Thanks a lot Meier, time to organise a gig with the boys methinks!

I was really disappointed with Suck it and See, but R U Mine and their newer song got me back. Both those are easily better than anything on SiaS

They just built a new arena in Leeds shame they aren't going there. Cool that they finish in Sheffield though I'm sure that will be a night

The album artwork has been released.

Not that interesting tbh.

In one week (22nd) they'll release Do I Wanna Know? on vinyl including two new B-Sides '2013' and 'Stop the World'

Can't wait to hear more from their AM sessions
New cover is lazy, but at least it's better than Suck It and See!

My favorite band. Turner's voice is lovely. Hopefully they'll have some faster songs there than Do I Wanna Know.

Every time they release something, I think I won't like it, every time, I found myself loving it after a few listens. It's one of my favourite bands, they always reinvented themselves and always came out as better.

I was sceptical of their headlining set at Glasto, but after seeing the video, I was very impressed and became super excited for their new album and their live show in Paris in november. I saw them 3 times, and they can be quite bad on stage sometimes, but when they're good, they play one hell of a show, like the last time I saw them at the Olympia.

Yeah, the artwork is roughly as expected. It is pretty cool, but I do sort-of wish they would have done something a bit different, after a simplistic cover for Suck it and See too. But, it does fit really well so...

I didn't like Humbug when it first came out but it's held up the best out of all of their albums. Hoping for a return to that sound.

I was the same, when Humbug first came out, I was just waiting for that sound which made me love them in the first place, and it didn't come, so I was a bit disappointed. But after a couple of listens, it just started to grow and grow - and is now my absolute favourite album from them.

I wouldn't want them to just do 'another Humbug' though, as great as it was, one of the great things about AM (the band, not the album) is their constant changing and progression. Though, people have described their new stuff as a bit of a cross between Humbug and R U Mine.

For all it's worth there are two recordings of new songs from a soundcheck.
Presumably 'Knee Socks' and 'Snap out of It'

Knee Socks
Snap out of It

Couldn't resist to listen in for a few seconds. I don't want to spoil myself too much, though.

One of my fave bands, can't wait for the release. I was playing "Whatever you say I am, that's what I'm not" in the car today, still holds up brilliantly.

Their new single 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' leaked onto the interwebs.
They quickly erased it from YouTube, though, so I can't find a working link at the moment.

It got a hip-hoppy poppy style to it; quite different. I think I love it already.
Go check it out somewhere!

Listening to call me when you're high, and I like the vibe. I wonder how the album is coming together as far as tone. I know the music video they made for a track on this album was....interesting....but I like this vibe.

B-Side "Stop The World I Wanna Get Off With You" is out, and it's quite amazing!

Spotify Link

Meanwhile, the album is this close to leak. Wild copies are out in the open, and release (in Japan) is next week.

I wish they'd announce a tour date in november for The Netherlands. They are everywhere in Europe except here :/

Damn. I preordered on iTunes.

Considering waiting anyway. But I unno.

But I think that if something like this leaks, iTunes (and everyone else) should just release it asap. They'll be losing sales otherwise.

Album's getting an unusual amount of hype.

All the songs have been snoozers with the exception of Do I Wanna Know?

Well, at least it has to be better than Suck it and See, getting Humbug vibes from the released songs.

People didn't like Suck it and See?

All Monkeys albums have haters. Some people only like the first two others think Humbug is shit etc.

I like all of them very much. Arctic Monkeys are definitely one of my favourite bands. And imo the most consistent of their generation.

Definitely, it's glorious :D

I love the little break at number 6 and 7. I was already impressed by Mad Sounds live at a festival this summer and the studio version totally does that justice.

Mad Sounds live at Best Kept Secret.

They've grown to such a great live band. Especially the transformation of Alex on stage.

Was underwhelmed yesterday but listening to it now I think it's an ace album.

Knee Socks, I Wanna Be Yours, Fireside and Arabella are my standouts. That's not even counting the 3 singles that were amazing.

I Want it All is bad, though.

Album feels like a child of Humbug and Suck it and See. Fireside and Knee Socks are the highlights so far.

Streaming on iTunes now! Get on board, people!

Album is fantastic. Intro of Arabella comes straight out of Hotline Miami.

I've been playing this album on repeat... till I fall asleep.

Nice work, Alex and the monkeys. Dat Submarine vibe.

AM seems to be the middle ground between the band being back to their best and satisfying Turner.

However, it's a really solid album. Homme's guest vocals are a nice touch after evidently having a large influence on a few of the tracks. Looking forward to see how it translates at a live show.

R U Mine is still my favorite. Solid album, but there is no voice in me begging to play it again, which is what I was hoping for.
