New Zelda Wind Waker HD videos

It really looks so much better in motion. It's really hard to adapt the art direction of Wind Waker and have it come out poorly though.

People are so weird. The game looks gorgeous and absolutely improved over the original. I still don't think I will buy it though. I just happen to feel this was my least favorite 3D Zelda.

So weird, a bit to much bloom BUT this is the only upcoming console game I really am willing to buy a console for - roll on even more Wii -U discounts.

Looks fantastic to me and I love the original.

If I want the original look, I'll just play the GC version. Or on Dolphin. I'm glad that the remake actually looks different (and great).

Looks amazing. The colors, the open world, the music, the freedom. Aaaaaah, can't wait. :D Preordered my collector edition (with the Ganon figure) yesterday.

i love the bloom, i think what people hate about it is it seem every screen shot is taken in the middle of the day cycle where sunlight is the brightest and harshest, therefore the bloom simulates that. People complaining about the bloom must've never been outside in a tropical setting. its BRIGHT as heck on sunny days...

looks fantastic, some shots such as near the end of the introduction video with link standing near the gravestone were downright breathtaking thanks to the new lighting

It's not really weird; even the tone of the colors is all strange now. It's a totally different look and in many people's estimations, not superior. There's a persistent glowing haze that is bloom, obviously, but it just looks like he's in some sort of bizarre malaise of light. This looks like MY-FIRST-BLOOM amateur hour. Seriously I've never in my life seen a worse use of bloom. That people think it's attractive doesn't surprise me, people like anything, but if this is good use of bloom, I'd hate to know what bad use is.

I mean obviously it's a higher resolution and there are other improvements, but I'd honestly take the originals look overall.

Sailing into the Tower of The Gods, the one shot of the Forsaken Fortress infiltration and the Aryll's lookout then and now comparison just made it all click as to how much more was done with the Wii U's direction.

Looks noticeably(very noticeably) better at times.

I say they did a very good, if safe, job with it.

Still not too excited about it compared to the actually new games from them but one day I will probably get it.

Looks so beautiful with the new lighting system and bloom. Far superior to the GC version.

Can someone gif those shots when he's sailing and it's sunset and when the lightening strikes during the night time sailing.

Edit: it's 1080p

The new lighting and shading and textures look great, but man those GCN models have aged very well. I wish those could have been updated at least a little bit.

I'm ok with the look, but the bloom is what kept me from finishing Twilight Princess, so I'm worried about this.

I said wow.

I'm not interested in buying this game again but I don't really get the people hating on the bloom. They don't have it everywhere, just when you are outside and during the day. It seems like they are using it in an incredibly appropriate way that actually makes sense.

Wow. Well, sorry, they totally bastardized the appeal of the original art style. I'm still getting it, but this is definitely not the way it should look.

Even though his comment is way out there, yours isn't much better.

It is the way it should look to them and they ummm, created the game.

You don't have to like the change but you really turded that one like only you can.

I prefer the original sky colour personally. I've got nothing against the bloom, just prefer the richer blue. I've never played the game, so it's not just some irrational resistance to change. I think everything else looks fantastic, and still look forward to picking this up.

Wow jesus the introduction video looked so fuckin good.

In truth, the comparison video sorta turned me off it a bit. When comparing a picture of the old style with a scene really drenched in the new lighting engine, I felt like the old style looked more artistically sound. But then the second video, watching it all in context and in a consistent style, rather than comparing it, it really all came together. Especially the bits where the bloom is more subtle. And it's all just so shockingly HD. Which sounds silly, but man, they sure fixed up all of the assets for such an old game. Shit is SHARP. The cartoon/colorful style really exceeds in 1080p.

Anyone notice the little "OK!" emblem pop up when Link photoed the darknut? I don't remember that from the original. I'm guessing it's to signify that yes, you took a photo that will turn into a figure without complaint. Neat!

It did have one of my favorite bits of Zelda gaming experience in it, though -- one of the hidden chamber/mini-dungeons (under the statues) was something like a 20-level gauntlet of enemies, with little-to-no health. I found it really fun and actually somewhat difficult...

Nice catch, maybe I wont have to go in and out of the Nintendo Gallery a half-dozen times before getting an acceptable picture of a kargaroc.

False equivalency, as always. Criticizing the look of a game vs. "everybody who thinks it's ugly is a piece of shit." Critiquing an inanimate object vs. insulting people.

HMMM YEAH ONE COMMENT IS NOT MUCH BETTER. You really try too hard.

As always, completely vapid defense of anything. Just because someone makes a choice about a game they make doesn't mean it's the right one. You're now trying to suggest the end of all game criticism, because, derp, designers know best! They made the game, after all!

Now I'm being facetious because I know you can't actually think anything so ridiculous, but that's exactly what your argument amounts to. If you can't address points being raised, then skip the posts. Preeeetty simple. Not rocket science.

Oh man, that is a GREAT addition. God DAMN I love model viewers. Can't wait to see the Nintendo Gallery figures in all their HD glory.

To this day that is still one of my favorite memories from the Zelda franchise. That one floor where it's just completely dark when suddenly "DEHNEH" and there are thousands of those rats with pitchforks? Amazing to younger me. :lol

Agreed, I normally don't like bloom, but it's well used here.
