Most of the time reason why that wont work is just due to how little HQ items folks put up at a constant rate.
That and you are wasting precious leves for not that much money.

Sooo seeing as i'll be done with my finals soon and i want a new MMO to play, im deciding whether this is for me. I never could get into FFXI or the original FFXIV, was a WoW player for several years though. I also loved rift for a while as well as well as RF online. The videos I've seen of this game look pretty awesome.

Rift was pretty good, closest anything came to WoW for me.
WoW I played for 8 years and still do.
This? I am TOTALLY in love with this game. This is the Final Fantasy MMO I have waited for all my life and didn't know I needed.

Got in no problems and finally was able to create a character in the same World as my friend. I hope it stays that way or at least that queues aren't just for show anymore (and they kick AFK people...)

TBH I wish they stuck with FF city names. That's a good way to name Final Fantasy servers. If not that, then weapons. Now there are servers with the same name for both FFXI and FFXIV (so saying "Oh, I play on Leviathan" will be confusing in some instances). Don't know why they would aim for that.

I understand its an necessary evil to play the game but its the start of the loop we are trying to avoid. Really hope there is a AFK ticker or timer eventually to level the playing field.

This was never a problem that was going to magically go away in one instant. The restrictions will be lifted, gradually. Square can't force 100k+ people to stop trying to play all at once (well, they could... lol)

Your friend, on that account, has a Windows version of the game that he will be able to play free until Sept 14 (though the date may have been moved back a week, not sure). A PS3 version will require a new purchase, which will grant 30 days. He won't be able to register the Windows version again (which would grant an additional 30 days).
