Nintendo Downloads - August 2013

i'm pretty surprised some devs haven't tried doing "quick and dirty" ports of wiiware games into native wii u titles, cant be that difficult surely and would give blatently done selling games a new lease of life?

BoF2 before BoF?

Weird

Edit : wasn't BoF published by Squaresoft in the US? That may be why

Never played any Breath of Fire games, but I'm realy interested in picking up BoF2 on Thursday. Would you say it's better to play the first BoF game beforehand, or is it more like Final Fantasy where it doesn't really matter which you play first?

Can't be that difficult? The 3DS CPU is like a full generation behind the Wii CPU.

The two games are technically connected, but it's pretty loose and not at all important to play BoF1 first. It's like how you really don't need to play Persona 3 before Persona 4, even though they take place in the same world.

Sweet, sold! Thank you.

So I ordered Minis March Again with my club nintendo coins. But when I download it on my 3DS, the game starts frozen at a white screen on both the topscreen and touchscreen. I called Nintendo about it, and they've sent my info to "Administrative Services."
I was going to get this with my coins, but now I'll pass. Thanks for the warning.

Two Tribes is doing this with Toki Tori, EDGE and RUSH. I think they said they'd be budget-priced, too.

Oh, and while I'm here: Toki Tori 2, best game on Wii U eShop. Holla.

There's not really any reason to assume it's not a problem with narton's 3DS. If it was an issue with the game, it would have come to light years ago.

I'd agree, except:

The same thing happened with mine when I redeemed my coins for MMA back in 2011, and I know some other people as well. I read something about people being able to fix it by fiddling with some kind of DS options in the 3DS settings, but that didn't work for me. Called Nintendo and they said I would need to send my 3DS in but I never bothered since everything else worked fine, though now that I think about it I don't think I ever tried playing it now that I have an XL. Might be worth looking into that system settings thing though

Maybe it's only a problem with OG models? (Mine is)

How is this to someone who already knows how to draw ?

Is there some tools and options for free drawing without any teachings ?

I would buy a lot of games a second time if this happened. Starting with Lost Winds, the game would look so beautiful in 1080p. I honestly though they were working on a sequel to Winter of the Melodias.

Pilotwings should've been offered for either Wii or WiiU.

Had to pay $1.50 to upgrade a free reward, priced the same on both shops :/

That's the plan. They get 1.50 out of you rather than nothing. I seriously doubt we will get a Wii U only prize for a very long time.

Hell we got two DSi prizes this month

I see, even though he wasn't the only one that happened to. Still, Nintendo should fix it, especially if it's being offered as a CN reward (though if people paid money for it and it didn't work, they would be even more pissed).

ok guys

someone convince me to buy Trine 2. I kept telling myself I would buy it when it's on sale, but I'm for whatever reason finding it difficult to pull the trigger. I resisted when it was $9.99 all those times, but $7.99 seems worth it.

I bought it at full price and barely touched it. Someday... it's pretty.

It's floaty and unpolished. A fun game, but it feels unfinished. I wouldn't suggest it unless you are planning on playing multiplayer, in which case you could have a nice time. Single player isn't so hot.

So I just played the demo hoping it'd give me that extra nudge. I dunno. Yeah it's beautiful, and the narration/banter is pretty charming... but I found it really cumbersome to switch between the characters on the fly, especially when you have a goblin suddenly running at you. Maybe it's just something you get used to? The movie at the end made it seem like things are only going to get more complex. I did like how there appeared to be multiple ways to tackle the various problems, which is nice. Maybe I'll sleep on it.

Problem is I'll have to remember to buy it in the morning, if I decide to do so, lol.

Yea... I guess it would be a lot easier to control in co-op. I could save it for when I have some friends over.

Also, I like the use of the touch screen for the magician, but it's weird having to look down whenever I want to manipulate an object.

There's a weird issue with WFC DS games that may be causing this for Minis March, since it actually has some appreciable online features. I (and others) saw this after my system was returned from service, but it may be an issue for other reasons as well.

Couldn't hurt to look, in any event. It's not a destructive thing.

  1. Go to "System Settings", "Other Settings", "Profile".
  2. Look at the top screen: note your birthday selection, but do not tap "Birthday".
  3. Now tap "Nintendo DS Profile".
  4. Look for your birthday in the top screen again; does it match? Mine did not! (Also, my favorite color did not match what I had selected before I sent my unit in for service!)
  5. Go back, edit birthday and save that setting again.
  6. Tap "Nintendo DS Profile" again; the birthdays matched.
  7. Try to connect to WFC in the game you were having trouble with again.

Dungeons and Dragons is probably the most significant online multiplayer release for the Wii U since Monster Hunter.

Ugh, why does Splinter Cell's multiplayer on Wii U have to be borked. So borked ... it's unplayable.

Cool! I love that this is coming out, and it doesn't have the 'import tax' (though $5.00 is more than enough). Still, I might hold out for a Wii U version.

If you think $5 is too expensive for the digital version of Recca, you can always buy the cart *snicker*
