I'm glad to see SE take action about this pretty quickly. It's obviously still tilting at windmills but at least they're trying.

I'm having a tough time deciding whether Ifrit or Garuda is the better Primal in a party situation. Ifrit does more damage but Garuda has the dot refresh ability. Though Garuda also has the knockback which I know can be annoying for tanks. Has anyone does any testing/research as to which performs better in that role?

OK I need help with the Garuda fight. How the hell do I interrupt slipstream? I have no idea when she's about to cast it.

Not sure if you can stun to interrupt, didnt really try because it has a fast cast time. Watch for the cast bar then move through Garuda to the other side of her to avoid it then move back into position.

Even though it doesnt have an AoE telegraph you can avoid it.

If I don't like where the story/villains are at in the main story at around 47~, will I still like the later quests? I think the highlight has been 40~ and to a lesser extent 32~, for a few levels. Really think they are wasting these villains.

weird spoiler question for the main quests around Lv 45-47
SPOILERS!!!
does the traitor character change based on the region your character is from?

probably not just a thought I had.

Never forget the bonds we forged in 1.0.

I'm almost certain, no.

The game probably gains some more dramatic weight if you started in Ul'dah though. The storyline seems more based in Ul'dah anyway.

You know out of all the FATE bosses I still say Cancer has got to be the most insanely powerful one considering that its mid tier.

Then theres that cyclops with the crazy spin attack that can do 1 hit damage at times for 3k plus. D:

ugh after grinding from 44 halfway through 47 now I have to grind to 49
guess im about to call it a night

alright thanks.

I can't believe this. I tried running Garuda with a PUG a while ago, we wiped a few times, and then the healer started blaming me for our wipes, saying that my gear sucked, and that I was going down too easily as a result. This, despite the fact that I was using my artifact gear for my Warrior. He also lectured me saying that I should be interrupting slipstream, to make it easier for him as a healer. And then he told me to leave and buy better gear.

I left that group, joined a different one, did not bother to interrupt a SINGLE slipstream, and the new healer had no problems healing me. We beat the boss on our first try.

-_-

Apparently my account was hacked during the night and now I'm banned.

Added an authenticator and now waiting on S-E's response. :(

In other words, the healer you played with at first was just terrible at his job.

I think the poison plant one (can't remember name..Lazy something?) is even more a pain being lvl 17 or somesuch..also gives a minion like Cancer one.

I know why you left but don't just take it next time.

This is a worthy cause I can get behind, S-E is going to be the butt of all jokes if they don't fix this up.

Am i the only one who rebinds their turn keys (A, D) and keeps their strafe keys for.. strafing? I find it much easier to hit hotkeys while using Q and E to circle strafe as opposed to A and D. Heck I rebind A, D and S on pretty much every MMO I play, no keyboard turning, no backpeddling period, and A, D and S go to important spells, like to use my WoW mage as an example, A = Blink, D = Counterspell and S = Ice Barrier.

It doesn't matter eitherway, just as long as you aren't keyboard turning. Most people will rebind A + D because WASD is the classical keyboard movement keys and thats what they're most comfortable with.

Miner and Goldsmith have made me something like 700k gil in the last few days.

I can now afford to blow my money on meals. Delicious.

The giant Mandarooga that spawns in the Eastern Shroud, near Hawthorne Hut?

Correct, you get a minion Mushroom for getting gold. "Lazy for you" Lazy Laurence Boss

The blonde hair and forehead gem makes me think of Souther from Fist of the North Star lol

I see where you are coming from ;)

This makes me glad I have a one time password at all times.
Do you need that little key device for this? I would really like that as well but don't want to have to pay insane amount in toll and stuff for an actual device..or is there another way?
edit: nvm - found the iphone app way :)

I need to know your secrets. I am dirt poor atm.

I am guessing you meant mount?
Tons of those already on my server and tbh I find them horribly ugly :/

As a Lala, it's nice to be so high up and tower over everyone else. Other than that, Choco or Unicorn works just fine for me.

Been working hard on getting this Job done

Getting Close!

I don't really understand Materia Melding, I have a Craftsman's Competence Materia I that I want to Meld to a lv 18 Goatskin Tool Belt HQ and I get this message: The Selected item's level is too low to maximize the Materia's potential. Instead of getting Craftsmanship +3 it will only give me Craftsmanship +2? I'm a lv 27 Leatherworker? What's the dilemma... give me +3 damnit!

Is there any way to modify the TAB key so that it actually targets whoever I'm actually AIMING at, instead of the dickhead standing on the far left or right hand sides of my screen? I swear to god the tab-targeting in this game is borked.

I feel like this with the PS3 targeting. I don't know if picking up healing or tanking would ever be viable for me since it seems like it takes so long to target whatever it is I want to target.

Ok, people - I know literally nothing about this game and I don't like MMOs in general. I am a sucker for pretty looking interfaces and fonts, which this game does seem to have. Go figure. So, should I be interested in this at all? What's the payment model and such? Going for the PC version if anything.

As far as I have been able to tell it has to do with the item's inherent stat. As I recall the tool belt you're trying to meld has only control. Therefore, any craftsmanship materia will suffer a drawback (no such penalty for CP though). I've also seen instances where when trying to stack 2 of the same type of materia will cause the 2nd one to be melded at a lower stat. Anyway, I don't know the exact guideline so maybe someone else (at higher level) can explain it better.

EDIT: Also, I've mentioned this before and I hate soliciting but for those looking for a digital copy, I have an unused key. I'm a 1.0 player that bought a PC copy for early access so I don't actually need the game. So PM me if interested.

This is my first MMO and I'm having a blast.

I think its 1 character, 1 server is $12.99, or 8 characters per server, 40 total is $14.99. Something like that.
