I am having major frame rate issues my hd5770 was running it fine but now it tanks on all settings. I check my gpu usage and it is never more than 29 percent. any clues?

I think you have to make some progress in the story, but not much. I think it's the same time you unlock levequests, which is also really early on.
Thanks, I figured I was missing something because I have talked to the people in the Limsa Lominsa inn/bar regularly without any option of staying. Only LV 12 and finished one story mission. Haven't unlocked levequests so I'll check back at the inn when I do.

Thanks for those links! We've been dealing with the exact same problem here. Can't play for more than 15-20 minutes (sometimes shorter) before we experience packet loss and error out of the game. It was fine before the game launched, but now it's terrible. Looks as though it may be related to the data path taken to a server in Canada. That's where the packets are lost. Really hope this gets cleared up soon. Can't play dungeons because of this stupid problem.

You're welcome ;)

I'll try to look for more info and post updates if/when needed. Love the game, but can't play it like this :(

I don't know if you remember, but I mentionned getting connexion problems, as in getting disconnected from the server temporarily every minute or so (world completely stops around for 10-15 then resume).

Thought it was because I'm on Wifi, but turns out that was wrong, there are some threads about it on the official forums.

Square-Enix

Hope to god they fix this quickly, in the current state I simply can't do dungeons...

It is a great relief to see that this is not a problem on my end. In dungeons I will always get random lag spikes and nothing on screen will be happening. On top of that, sometimes other players disappear from the screen entirely.

So is the word on the street that the 10th/11th will have retail units sold again for pc?

My sister is using my account ><

She was like, "after 6 years I suddenly wanna try out mmo's and I'm playing everquest 2". Well, not in so many words.

I played until level 7 and couldn't do it for obvious reasons.

A) <tt> should be Target's Target, I think. So that'll heal the character the mob is targeting. I actually should use that for cures, lol. It should work if you make a macro. So you're always targeting whoever he's hitting. I'll need to test it out when I get home.

B) 2.5 was an example. Might want to read more carefully.

Yup but also, shift + F locks your focus target :)

I wish we could queue duty finder with only newbies, running dungeons with people who wants to speed run it is annoying and boring as fuck.

Hope I'm almost done with the last few dungeons because I'm definitely not enjoying it even if the bosses are "easy" with the right strategy.

Oh my god, THIS. I wish there was a server for people like us.

Got sweetFX running. Colors are a lot more vibrant.
Vibrancy (and SMAA) is the most basic and common SweetFX setting, but you can do some really crazy shit with that program.
It's a fascinating tool, and we PC gamers are lucky to have it. And ENB, of course. Fucking love PC gaming.

SweetFX is so difficult to learn and setup properly, though, it really is a lot of Google searching and trial and error to come up with some settings that you think improve the image, rather than ruining it.

It is ridiculously fucking easy to completely destroy the art of a game with SweetFX by just tweaking a couple innocent values. For some reason, many people really love to crank down the Gamma and crush the shit out of blacks, I can't stand that.

What some people were doing to Bioshock Infinite earlier this year was downright criminal. I saw some screenshots of that game that were just absolutely disgusting and completely ruined the artistic integrity with, like, crazy Sepia filters and shit. That's not how to use SweetFX.

Much of the magic of SweetFX is making minor decimal adjustments and seeing if you like the nearly insignificant difference. If you're doing it right, or learning it right.

Plenty of people just open up Notepad and start punching in random fucking numbers wherever they feel like it and then try to share that shit with the world.

How easy is it to play with friends in this? Can you play with people in other servers? My cousin joined an EU server but I wanna join Ultros when I get the game tomorrow. Btw feel free to PM me your PSN name or your FFXIV name so I can add you guys tomorrow.

Had a bad morning with FATE group today. Was invited to a group, then party leader wanted to join a bigger group. The leader of the new group invited me and then dropped me five minutes later with no rational why. Overall, the groups been great even in duty finder, but I just ran into a negative one today.

Its Totorak time tomorrow!

The only thing I dont like about story filler quests is that just like in games like XII and Xenoblade, sometimes you forget what the main task was in the first place.

Also is there any point to melding anything with +1 resistance or to a stat? Not sure just how much +1 more Fire Resist would help for instance.

EDIT: If you want to run dungeons with people who are still up for exploration, just cruise through the zone every so often.

No you cant play cross server.

and sharpness to max baby

This happened to me earlier. Once it fixed itself a few seconds later, but then recently made it crash. Nothing as constant as those threads though. Just every so often in a really REALLY populated camp.

I like my shit sharp. I inject LumaSharpening and then downsample the high resolution images in Photoshop with Bicubic Sharper resampling.

Occasionally I do go too far, especially when foliage is involved (high sharpness values really make foliage look weird), but for the most part I try to do it right.

If I feel like the image is already sharp enough from the LumaSharpen, I will use Lanczos 3 resampling from Fast Stone Image Viewer, instead of the Photoshop one.

On other hand, I tried some Arcanist, seems like a fun class. I'll probably take Scholar as my second job to 50, tanking every 50 content is just... ugh. x_x

Do you need to have multiple monitors to run it at that aspect ratio?

Wow. Nice. Is there a link to this? Do I just drag it the FFXIV folder?

Also, what monitor do you use?
I think you guys need to take a look at this thread to answer your questions... I only have a 60Hz 1080p IPS monitor. (Well, I have a second monitor, but I don't extend them as one, I use them seperately) I play the game in 1080p, I switch to 3840x1620 for a few seconds to snap a quick screenshot at the highest quality I feel I can achieve, then use a program to resample the image back to 1920x810.

I hadn't realized why SMN got Archer skills until I realized Raging Strikes is a general damage boost and Quelling Strikes reduces enmity, lol.

I so wanna try this but I fear I am going to screw stuff up. While I am very cosy with all things computer both hardware and software wise and can put together my own machine as well as optimize it, Overclocking and other tweaking stuff always scared the hell out of me. How big is the chance to totally screw everything up with playing around with this?

Even though the game already looks awesome as is

Obligatory Costa del Sol pic (even though I outgrew it I still find myself coming back for some "vacation" time ;)

Thanks. Actually, I was asking about your monitor because I was wanting to know if your monitor suffers from backlight bleed on the edges. (flashlighting) I haven't found a single LED monitor that doesn't have the edge issues.

One of the DoL abilities gives you a bonus based on having a resistance over a certain amount so it might help with that.

Okay, up to 32 Warrior. Hopefully I'll unlock a new dungeon soon, cause I want to get some good armor I can actually freely dye. Just finished the Little Ala Mhigo storyline, so something should be opening up fairly soon.

How long until I can unlock Brayflox anyway? I liked that dungeon in phase 3.

Anyhow, I set up multiple keyboard hotbars today, in addition to my controller crossbar. The crossbar is for Combo's and Immediate combat moves. Hotbar 1 is mostly for buffs, Hotbar 2 is for Target assignment Signs, and items. I didn't really have an opportunity to use Signs today, but hopefully I'll get a chance in the next dungeon.

Though, I might try on one of the earlier dungeons, since with my equipment I should have lots of room to screw up.
