Everthing made by Imaishi is fan-service laden.
But his stuff usually falls more into a hyper sexual side, it hardly ever feels creepy. Its just over the top and fun.
It's when it goes in the other direction that it gets creepy. Like Nia.

Dude there is a diffrence between showing a little skin and that. Plus isn't she high school age so it makes it more weird. I mean I should have known there would be a design like this but I'm still sad. It will still be good but I won't watch it around my bro's.

Dead Leaves was pretty badass, IMO. It was like a Japanese Super Jail.( or is Super Jail the western Dead Leaves?)
She's not showing any more skin than Yoko who was 14 if i remember correctly. I guess i just like my anime over the top( which Imaishi always delivers on), but i started watching when stuff like Dirty Pair and Project A-ko were new and showing a HS age girl in the nude wasn't that big a deal. Also what's with the Nia hate in this thread? Always see this character get shit on but i never understood what was supposed to be so bad about her. She was far more likable than that fucking asshole Rossiu.

Have you watched Dead Leaves (not my cup of tea to be honest), Gurren Lagann, Panty and Stocking or Re: Cutie Honey (granted the last isn't an original work but you can see Imiashi's impression all over it, especially in episode 1)? If you've enjoyed any of those works then I'm not seeing how this is outside the bounds of what these people do. I'm pretty confident your bros aren't going to give a shit
Nia's the least of Gurren's problems, though she certainly helps push the show to overall mediocre. Terrible character. Terrible second half is the real killer of the show, but Nia is certainly a major problem.
Still, even though I don't like TTGL like most, I'm super pumped for Kill la Kill. That show seems so up my alley. Cannot wait.

I see nothing wrong with that outfit. Thing looks boss as hell.
His Gundam Unicorn score is awesome. Probably my favorite part of the series. That Unicorn theme is so damn boss. I still love the guy's work, despite some of the downs he may have.
Yeah Unicorn was awesome, as was Ao No Exorcist TV, those are his two best scores by far. Prob is everything after has been getting progressively worst as time goes by.
Basara Movie, AnE OST 2, Guilty Crown, AnE Movie and Attack on Titan are pretty much.
His last two years have been pretty avg and he's living off Unicorn and the first AnE ost. Chances of this living up to Iwasaki's Gurren Lagann score are about the same as Monolith's X's having as good as score as Xenoblade, fuck all.
The new tracks he keeps writing each year for the new Unicorn episode have all been pretty much up to snuff. He's still got it somewhere in him. Personally, to me it seems he's phoning it in on a lot of projects in order to focus on the work he really cares about. I expect, given how high profile KalK is, we may get old Sawano back. Would have said that about AoT, though, too, so who the hell knows? As for X, no way he tops Xenoblade. Right there with ya. Sure it'll be good enough to be workable, though.
So, yeah, long story short I still like the guy even when he's doing meh work. If he starts sucking for 2-4 years, then I'll be on the hate train. He's given me too much I like to really give up right now.

I've only seen Gurren Lagann and it's one of my all time favorites. I liked yoko as a character but always hated her design. I'm a anime fan but I've always hated fan service it just feels wrong. I'm probably going to love this anime and I'm still exited I'm just getting tired of fan service lol.
