Oh man did they use the cheapest lcd available?
Now i feel even more sorry for those who will play dragon's crown on it and for the gourgeous graphics that will be wasted on that screen...

We get it. You've posted about this so many times already (in multiple threads).

Also, I think we should wait and see what the new Vita screen actually looks like in person before we jump to conclusions.

But have you seen the images? The screen looks even worse than the psp one!

They seriously need to release that thing at 150-180 euros and keep the OG Vita at 200€. Now that I've seen Vita in its full OLED glory I wouldn't stand such a downgrade.

Are that burning issues really worrying in the short and medium term?

Same for me.
I'm no more a tech/graphics whore, i love (sony)handhelds and i don't plan to buy a ps4 and my notebook can't even run 2d indie games decently(seriously! I understand that an intel integrated vga is extremely weak, but are those games optimized? I can't believe this!), but there's no way i will go back from the oled.

EDIT:
about the dragon's crown example that i repeated many times, yesterday after a long time i saw again the opening video and i was stunned by its clearness, fluidity and colors, i seriously think that it would be a crime against the game looking at it on a cheap lcd imo.

Me neither. The weight and battery life aren't a problem to me, since I usually end up in bed playing it, near a charger and soforth.

I recently switched back to my 16GB from my 4GB, feels good man.

I have to see the new Vita in action before I say anything about it. But I'll probably stick with my OG Vita and then get Vita TV, so I can play Vita TV at home and then when I am out and about I can use the Vita. =)

So pumped for the Vita revision. I really want to get the yellow one. What's the chance it comes to North America? Should I just import it? If so, what's the best way?

Hey, is that new Vita going to replace the OLED one completely?

I've got a couple of friends interested in picking up a Vita around Christmas time, but if the OLED version is going to disappear I'll need to get them to move faster.

LCD is going to be awful for Vita games. I can barely stand using my PSP since I got my Vita. The thought of looking at Killzone on that... ugh...

Yes, vita 2k and vita tv will replace the original vita.

I'm sure it's already been remarked on - but it does seem strange that NOTHING Ubi announced today is coming for the Vita, or even Wii U.

Normally Ubi have been pretty good about supporting both machines - and those 2D Rayman engine games would look so good on the OLED.

Business I guess.

Haven't been giving my vita as much love recently, went home for a few days and had a temporary swap with my sister and her 3ds. Played her SMT IV and immediately went out and got a 3ds xl, so SMT IV and Fire Emblem Awakening have been eating up my time. However, she played my Persona 4, and its officially overtaken Okami as her favorite game. I couldn't pry it away from her, she put in 40 hours already.

With the news of a new model she's super pumped for a yellow vita, although currently waiting on how the screen will compare to the oled version. So were both on team vita/3ds. Dragons crown coop here we come!

As for the VitaTV, hell yes. The only games I've played regularly on console in the past 3 months is Super Street fighter 4 and marvel, with a bit of Dragons Dogma and Rising, everything else vita. Really hope this gets more software rolling in. I looked but couldn't find a clear answer, is it known if the vita itself can be used as a controller for VitaTV? I assume that would take care of game compatibility issues

So Ubisoft revealed some very very interesting games today, at least 3....sadly none of them are coming to vita which I dont understand why. Those games, I assume, should be able to run on a vita. Also, the vita lost AC Liberations. Quite disappointed by this :L

We didn't 'lose' AC:L - but it's weird we didn't get anything.

We kind of did, as a unique experience at least. A lot of games have had this happen recently. Hot Shots Golf, Project Diva f, AC:L...

Also, we should wait for people to actually get their hands on a Vita 2k with not shit cameras.

Not getting Child of Light after a bunch of #jrpgvita campaigns seems like an embarrassing failure.

But it's not a JRPG? And if we knew the deals behind it it might be embarrassing - but we have no idea why it's not coming.

You can still buy AC:L and (I've not played it) but it has touch screen use maybe? That experience is still unique to Vita - but now more people get to play the game. Everyone wins.

The vita game was an exclusive, not it isnt. Ubisoft, very disappointed in you. Understandable, but still.

Hope for Shahid? Or that new Gio Corsi guy to do something bout this. These are all the games I would very likely play on my vita than on consoles.

Disappointed by the lack of vita version of those 2d games, but i guess we'll get some late port.
Liberation hd was expected, bad news obviously but after so much time is not that important.

I don't feel any type of way about Ubi... that's money on the table they left, not me...

Vita TV will increase the installbase... the games will follow... this is pretty much guaranteed.

Vita can't lose numbers..only grow

Eh, I can't harbor any animosity toward Ubisoft. They gave the platform a go. If they don't think it's viable for the titles they're currently releasing, so be it. I'm sure they'll be keeping an eye on things and they'll get involved again when they feel it's time.

EU types, is PS+ currently giving 90 days free when you buy a year subscription? It says it on the main site, but when you go here there's no mention of it.

The voice of reason as usual

Can you still buy the game on Vita?

Yes, people can but the incentive to buy the vita version is just gone. Sure the vita version is portable but the non-vita version will have better performance, new missions, better visuals, better sounds.

The new Vita really does look like a knock-off.

Sony should keep the OG Vita as a premium model.

Ah, thats another reason why I kinda dont like it. It looks like the cheap knock off vita, the image you posted.

I don't think I've seen anyone mention it, so perhaps it's not a thing for OLED? Different story potentially for the new revision I guess.

It happens.

OLED isn't really as perfect as people will try to sell you. There are lots of cons, specially in the long term.

Bit of a shame the new Endwar turned out to be a browser game. As always, would have been nice to have a new portable effort.

I recall Funatics, a Bluebyte spin-off, did quite a nice little sprite-based TBS take on the franchise for PSP. We need some decent, deep strategy titles on the machine that aren't SRPGs. Unless they give us a new Front Mission.

It still sucks. If Ubi has given up hope, then who else is left in the west? Borderlands 2?

Sony is gonna need to step up support of localization plans on the Japanese side as those are the only remotely AAA games now coming for the console. I'd rather have Gods Eater 2 then nothing at all at this point. :(

Also, I hope Atlus announces something soon. They've been quiet. Isn't P4G the best selling Vita game.

Vita TV doesn't have Welcome Park! I would like it gone from my Vita Portable too, please.

Vita TV also can't remote play PS3 games, though that probably won't be missed.

Hopefully the costs go down enough in the next few years that the Vita 3000 brings back the OLED screen. Until then, I'm sticking with my launch unit. I might even pick up a new (original) Vita if Amazon has another deal like it did for Black Friday last year.

Edit: Top of the page, buy Kickbeat before the PS+ discount goes away later today! The song in the demo might seem difficult, but it's actually the last track in the game.

Also I just realised if Vita TV is to be successful in the UK then both Vitas will need Netflix, BBC iPlayer, 4OD, etc. None of which the Vita in the UK currently has. Where's our Netflix app!?

Agreed, won't be missed. Although I can see Vita TV playing PS3 games through Gaikai. I don't miss Welcome Park at all.
