Also, Harry Gregson-Williams is scoring the game. Makes sense to me!

I was still attempting to decide whether or not to pickup the 360 version or PC version. I am leaning towards the PC version now and I think that the demo later this week will lock it up for me.

seeing these pics is almost as good as a decent blow job

imagine looking at these pics while getting a decent blow job

Just because PC gamers didn´t had to play the abomination that is CoD3? I doubt that anyone regrets it :lol
Besides, the series was born on the PC and CoD1 still holds the crown. (until CoD4 is released I guess)

CoD was born on the PC sunshine! It'll never forget it's mother. I remember trying out CoD1 for the first time and literally going "FUUUCKCKKKK!!"

This game is coming out for all platforms on the same day right? None of this delay business is happening here correct? Because I am looking forward this game on the Ps3.

w00t a demo! My 8800GTS is either eager with anticipation or shitting itself. Have the system requirements been released?

I'll definitely be there. However, I can't for the life of me understand how in the hell this game would win out the top honors for visuals.

God this looks phenomenal, its just damn it, I really can never seem to get into these types of games. Makes me almost feel guilty.

Will try the demo. I guess regenerating health and the "take your stupid ass AI buddies from checkpoint to checkpoint to stop infinite respawning enemies" gameplay make a return for this one?

It did? Looks good but not really stunning. Maybe it looks a lot (like a LOT) better in motion?

Amazing screens, just love everything about them. If I had a PC capable of playing it looking like that, I'd return triumphantly to PC along with COD. Alas.

Hopefully PS3 gets a SP demo too.

Regenerating health? In a modern combat game?

Does COD4 have regenerating health?

I think it's the action that seals it. Because breaking it down, the game suffers from the same type of normal mappitis as COD2 (although obviously improved), inconsistent texture quality and oddly poor looking gun models. The lighting is nice though, and the animation really adds something to it.

It does look very good and clean. But whether I'm looking at stills or watching gameplay footage all my brain sees is a re-skinned COD2 with a better lighting engine.

dam the fustrations of being limited to a laptop with a 8400GS.

Can't wait to get back to my desktop... ETA 3 months... and 6000 miles away.

I think the game looks great but these shots are too zoomed in to show how good the graphics really are. The E3 video looked a lot better than these shots. I love the first two shots though. They're like what Kojima would have wanted MGS2 to look like.

3 was a milking, it should have been "CoD2: Some Stupid Name" CoD4 is the real 3.

True statement, even Infinity Ward labels a lot of their internal design docs as COD3

OK, haven't been in the beta. Will try the demo for sure to the what all the fuzz is about.

I think that's the way to go nowadays sadly :-(.

Does anyone actually miss the pacman hunt for health packs? I just want to cut off those complaints at the pass.

I was re-playing CoD1 a few weeks ago; trying to get past an encounter, I couldn't figure out why I was dying in one hit. Finally realized that I was walking into the fight with ~10 health. D'oh.

Regen health can obviously ruin a shooter if not done well (lord knows), but I'll take it over magic health packs any day in a modern-combat game. Hunting for little white boxes in-between fights is a buzz- (and immersion-) kill. It was cool in Half-Life for me, because you at least had the fiction that your suit is tending to your medical needs, and just needs supplies (like from the wall plugs) to do so.

So anyhow. CoD4 is regen, but it's more sophisticated (behind-the-scenes) than CoD2.

:lol It's more immersive that you can take a full shot to the face and just have to crouch somewhere to get your health back? (I guess that's not magic but things that happen on the battlefield) Takes away all the skill.

I sort of miss them. I definitely prefer healthpacks (or even better, something more realistic like medics) to the horribly unimmersive regeneration system used in way too many shooters nowadays. I don't like running around hunting for health, but that's rarely the case anyways--most games put the health in between firefight sections and make it easily accessible.
