I remember that hullabaloo. I wish I'd kept my FFVIII demo disc... the song that plays when you're storming the beach with all the cool CG FMV was accused of being extremely similar to a song from the movie The Rock, and was replaced with a different song in the final product.

What the... Wow. Never played Croc, but... wow. There is no other word for that.

I really liked the menu music from the original Forza Motorsport game. It was mostly instrumental "homages" aka ripoffs of famous classic rock songs. You could hear Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and others in there. They were changed enough so they weren't straight copies, but there were loads of recognisable songs in there.

I was so confused when I figured this out. I was probably about 10 at the time, I hadn't played BoF3, but I downloaded lots of song midis (good old dial-up) and I would listen to these midis as I would an album. I listened to BoF3's Cedar Forest, and then Chrono Trigger's Forest theme, and I was astounded by how similar they sounded.
