With hints of other GTAV SKUs, will you be strong enough to wait?

Look, it really doesn't take that much "strength".
Am I interested in playing GTA V? Sure. But I'm not really dying to do it.
I can wait just fine.
 
From what little I've seen of it in the spoiler thread? I'd cut a bitch to get the game now and we're only 2 days away. Waiting who knows how many extra months for those versions is impossible.
 
I would have waited anyway. The backlash for IV was immense, and in my opinion well deserved, a lot of vocal people considered it the second coming up to release and look what we really got. I'll play V after things have calmed down and opinions aren't under the influence of primary and secondary marketing anymore.
 
I decided very early on that I would not be getting this on current gen. The videos just looked too good for what this old hardware can do. I will happily buy this game once it's out on PS4.
 
I don't know how well optimized the PC version will be, so I'm just gonna get a copy for PS3 now and then once I upgrade my PC and that version is cheaper I'll pick it up in a sale.
 
No, I will be buying it on PS3 and won't be double dipping any time soon.

I would love to play it in 1080p and 60fps with AA and everything but I'm fully expecting to devote 60 or more hours into the game and reach 100% completion on PS3. After I'm finally done with the PS3 version I won't feel like doing it all again, at least not for 5 years.
 
Will try to wait but when three of my housemates will be heading out at midnight and buying a copy, i'll inevitably buy one too as i'm weak.
 
I like Grand Theft Auto, but I don't love it as much as, apparently, 99.99% of the rest of everyone does.

I'll actually have a really easy time waiting.

People are forgetting that yes, there are other games coming out that will easily make me or anyone else forget the urge to play Gta and help fill our time.
 
Will not wait. Will double dip day 1.

This has to be Rockstars plan. Hold off announcement/release of next gen versions just long enough for everyone to buy current gen right away and double dip later. They know we are weak.
 
I thought I could wait, but watching all the streams is making me double dip. This lets me play Gta online with all my friends with crappy PCs anyways.

It's not just their plan, it's tradition at this point.
 
I thought I could wait for the PC version but after seeing some footage in the spoilers thread I'm not sure that I can.

That said, I don't have the game pre-ordered so I would have to make a special trip to the store to get it and I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to doing that. We'll see if the hype gets to me this week.
 
I have a powerful PC (would double dip) and am buying it for 360 but part of me really hopes it doesn't come to next gen consoles and PC now (or they just remain silent for years) just to watch all the delicious tears from GAF.

Because I want my first playthough to have a rock solid 60 fps, high rez tex mods, real life models and names of the cars, etc. Playing a once-every-five-years game like this on 2005/2006 hardware just seems like an epic waste, like seeing a new Star Wars movie on 21" monitor with built in speakers.
 
Getting 360 version regardless, then one of X1/PS4 when they appear. Probably PC version later in a sale.
 
Yeah, i'll be patient. No double dipping from me. I'll just buy it on PC since I will be able to mod it and do so much more than a mere console will be able to do. GTA is always at its prime on PC.
 
in all likelihood i'll rent the game on ps3 and get tired of it after 2 hours, so there's no point in saving those 2 hours for ps4.
 
Of course I can. I remember the hype for GTA4, and I remember how the game turned out. Not letting myself fall into that trap again.
 
As a long time fan of the series, i never played them for their graphical fidelity. GTA games are about the humor, the satire, the action, car chases and fun characters.

Never once while playing the PS2 versions of 3, Vice City and San Andreas did i think "maybe i should play them on the PC or Xbox?".

Even though it's looking extremely likely that there will be a PC version, wish Rockstar would just announce it already... Any guesses as to when, anyone?
 
Nope. Just because there's mention of other platforms in the code doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen. Remember all those images for PC button prompts that folks found by digging into the code of Catherine? And wasn't that PC port of Catherine amazing? ;)

Actually, I'm pretty sure a PC port is coming anyway, but my hype levels are too high. Pre-order not cancelled.
 
Wait. If I had a newer, quieter 360 with a big hard drive, then I'd probably be a double dipper. Since I have an og, noisy as hell, 20 gb full to the brim, and a brand spanking new ps4 coming in two months... I'll just have to sit patiently for the ps4 version.
 
Yes, will be another $60 I'll put to an Xbox One this holiday then get a PS4 once Naughty Dog's first game comes out for it.
