I would have waited anyway. The backlash for IV was immense, and in my opinion well deserved, a lot of vocal people considered it the second coming up to release and look what we really got. I'll play V after things have calmed down and opinions aren't under the influence of primary and secondary marketing anymore.

No, I will be buying it on PS3 and won't be double dipping any time soon.

I would love to play it in 1080p and 60fps with AA and everything but I'm fully expecting to devote 60 or more hours into the game and reach 100% completion on PS3. After I'm finally done with the PS3 version I won't feel like doing it all again, at least not for 5 years.

Because I want my first playthough to have a rock solid 60 fps, high rez tex mods, real life models and names of the cars, etc. Playing a once-every-five-years game like this on 2005/2006 hardware just seems like an epic waste, like seeing a new Star Wars movie on 21" monitor with built in speakers.

As a long time fan of the series, i never played them for their graphical fidelity. GTA games are about the humor, the satire, the action, car chases and fun characters.

Never once while playing the PS2 versions of 3, Vice City and San Andreas did i think "maybe i should play them on the PC or Xbox?".
