Yeah. Makoto vs Cammy is certainly not an even match up.
Cammy can do the damage that Makoto does ,but she's faster ,safer and like ~Devil Trigger~ already said. Has better defence options and easier time getting in.

Frankly. Makoto is a great character. Underused ,but pretty good. Still. I certainly wouldn't put her equal to Cammy ,Fei Long or even Sakura.

Walkspeed aside, Makoto is the fastest character in the game. She has all the tools she needs to deal with this matchup (focus punish, good anti air, good pokes to keep people from walking/dashing up, good backdash to escape pressure, can't go for divekick mixup because of fukiage, good damage). Wheras a character like Cody can't even dream to escape her pressure when she's on him unless he guesses right on a throw. His backdash and backwards walkspeed sucks, she's harder for him to anti air, and Bingo is too slow to escape pressure that isn't tick > throw, If he gets knocked down he HAS to deal with the dive kick/short/empty jump mixup and that matchup is still only 6-4. Makoto has it a lot better than some other characters in this matchup.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Cammy isn't good. But I do think she's heavily overrated. She's such a linear character that it isn't too hard to see what she's going for. The characters that can't anti air her or escape her pressure are fucked, but if you can do either of those two you have a fighting chance.

The tournament also included a special exhibition match between Reorao (Goh) and Buster (Lion) to decide who gets to keep the Tenshoushin ("Sky Lord") title, the highest rank available in the arcade version of VF5FS. To give you an idea of how difficult it is to achieve Tenshoushin rank, only five players have managed to obtain it since the game was released in summer 2010.

Whenever two players reach Tenshoushin (which, as you can imagine, is extremely rare), they play until one of them is demoted. It's really cool and adds a bit of prestige to these events.

There were more females in the front row of that JP Capcpom Cup qualifier than will attend American majors this year.

This was something I noticed pretty immediately too.
