That post is worse than people saying they hate "Nintendo" games. I mean at least that makes some sense as no company can cover every genre but saying that PC games aren't as good/interesting as console games?

This thing is blasting through games like a hot knife through butter. Outputting to two 60" Pioneer Kuros right now, and I can't believe what I'm seeing. As I'm tearing through the highest-end games like they're a joke, I realize that the visual "wow" factor for upgrading to new consoles will be all but lost on me.

And I was thinking that, okay, this is an exception. Most people wouldn't have access to this kind of setup. But that's not true. Even with the PS4, big deal -- I could have built that PC two years ago.

My laptop from 2008 is smaller, quieter, and by all accounts, performs better.

Maybe Kinect will do something that makes the Xbone a differentiated experience. Who knows. But for all the people who "care" about performance, and cite it as a reason to buy one console over another, what the hell is stopping you from just building a better PC two years ago?

Meh, my rig is equal or better than yours. But guess what? I'm still going to be playing on PS4 when I get mine at launch, because I like to play on consoles. And like me I feel that most people just want the best bang for the buck.

No such thing as hate is deserved to someone else in my opinion. There are just different people with different tastes and different ways of playing their games. You have a 100+ page thread of PS4 supporters lording it over the inferior specs of the Xbone, a big thread detailing the superiority of the Wii U to the 360/PS3, digital foundry comparisons getting threads practically every time etc. Remember when the PS4 was announced and there was a rash of "8gig DDR5" posts? It all gets amplified when there is new hardware around.

You have PC owners trying to justify why they don't need a next gen console, console owners justifying why their new machine is superior to a more powerful PC, console owners trying to justify their console over the other consoles. All around people feeling insecure trying to convince themselves that they are on the "winning team".
