...You can still do that, obviously just not in the way you thought/
Warning to Dragon Quest X playing J-GAF:
Firmware 4.0.0J will fail to boot your Wii U at all (as in the whole system halts with an error code of selecting a user) if you have the Dragon Quest X official 'Nintendo USB Memory' stick attached.
It appears that the firmware now thinks this is a hard drive and has a cataclysmic meltdown/failure. (This used to be fine.)
Simply remove the stick and reboot your console, everything is fine..
Apart from obviously, you can't play the Wii version of Dragon Quest X anymore.
Which is obviously, very sad and bad - way to go Nintendo testing!
A patch could fix the problem, right?
So is it faster? I'm enjoying myself too much in the bed to get up and download it :lol
Something annoying:
I was excited at the possibility of playing Wii games without a TV in the car or something. However, when you try to boot directly into your Wii Channel, you are REQUIRED to turn the TV on. It can actually detect whether or not your TV is connected and on.
If one's not, tough luck. Been trying to find a workaround.
Haven't been following the thread. What's the word on a real account system?
Ya, it really should be the only way to play, I'm still a little confused about it. Still, beggars can't be choosers I guess...I finally have a real use for that game pad stand now, pitiful consolation? LolHm, kinda dumb that GamePad controls don't work on it for Classic Gamepad games.
Very dumb...
I think someone posted that if you change the TV output setting to non-HDMI it works.

You dont get banned for buying out of region games.

Uh, you can't buy out-of-region games?

Anyone else still getting the old eShop music? I'm not getting the new jamz.
Dat new eShop music
hngh
do i still need a sensorbar, when playing on the gamepad?
Nintendo still thinks an entirely white screen with a very small icon in the middle is a good loading screen?
Games that have classic controller functionality, there's no reason that the Wii U couldn't be patched so that those games could be played with the gamepad though..

Which traditionally and from Nintendo's point of view is the same region ("PAL").EU and Aus eShop can be accessed from my console.
I heard you can finally get Dolby Pro Logic for Wii games over HDMI... but have they added screen size adjustment to get rid of the underscan in Wii mode?
