im looking for something simple and affordable that gets the message. What do you guys get your gfs for their bdays D:?

I make my gf gifts. Not stupid homemade cards or anything, but stuff that looks pretty and shit.

I alternate practical gifts and love-stuffed gifts every other holiday.
 
I bought my GF two books on her birthday (one fiction, one non fiction) on things that I thought were related to her interests. I also baked her a cake and made her dinner from scratch.
 
I have always appreciated stuff that's cool and original but useful, maybe If I knew more about the stuff she likes..... ThinkGeek has some cool ideas, and Popgadget.net is a tech/gadget/etc. site for teh ladies with all kinds of cool ideas. Get Creative!
 
I'm assuming you haven't been dating for very long (why else would you ask a bunch of people who don't know your girl at all?) and I'm not sure what "the message" is but if I may take a stab in the dark:

Seriously, from a girl's perspective, and depending on your level of commitment, jewelry is nice.
It doesnt have to be anything really expensive as long as youre not trying to pull it off as something really expensive. Just something nice and tasteful that she can think of you every time she wears it.

Or maybe something sentimental, like the DVD of the first movie you saw in the theater together or something.
 
Being an accounting major myself, if she's anything like me, then she has been going on a shit-ton of interviews. I bought my GF a nice leather portfolio as she was getting ready to interview with a lot of companys, and I cooked her favorite meal for her. We were both happy at the end of the evening.
 
Give her a real heart in a box. Put some aluminum foil in the box to make sure the juices don't escape.
 
Buy a steak, and give her the gift of cooking it to you. And while you eat it, you can give her the gift of your penis in her mouth. Best birthday gift ever.

Hi, guys, this is laesperanzapaz's girlfriend. Last week was the anniversary of our first date - not even my birthday or anything - and laspy [a cute abbreviation i gave him:D ] baked me a vanilla and chocolate cake with real strawberrys at the top, then blindfolded me, took me outside, and presented me with a brand-new Lexus at my doorstep! I was so overjoyed! Of course, as a proper girl should do, I gave him a BJ and swallowed. His is the tastiest! ;)
