When do we get access to Pokemon Amie? Is it there once you get your first pokemon?

Yeah it's inbuilt like the c-gear was in gen 5, it's on the bottom screen. same with EV training and the PSS (player search system) for online!

edit: I thought I wouldn't be bothered about it but it's really cute.

That's one possible way, at least. Most people will be content to trade and chain breed for the Masuda method
For people who aren't sure on exactly what IS the Masuda method, here's a quick run-through on how to improve your odds on getting a shiny from an almost-impossible 1 in 8,192 (aka 0.012% of the time - hugs his shiny Litwick that was found this way) to a far more generous 1 in 1,365 (aka 0.073% of the time).

The Masuda method involves breeding two Pokémon created in games of different countries. An Egg resulting from such a pairing will have a higher likelihood of being Shiny. The most common way to arrange such a pairing is to use one foreign Pokémon and one from the game in which the breeding occurs, although the method will work in any game provided at least one of the Pokémon in the pair is from a country different to the country of the game cartridge.

lol, I had already checked serebii and found nothing, must have missed it. Thanks!
The only thing that's missing from that list is Torchic because it's an event giveaway you'll have access to on launch day with its Mega stone.

The other 454 you'll fine at those links on Serebii.

Another question. The only way for me to get a Feraligator would be to buy one of the Gen IV titles and trade him come December, right?

So, about MGengar, do you guys think there would be any reason to run Sub over Protect? Since he can't heal with Black Sludge, you can protect > mega > disable and try to trap someone.

Protect doesn't save you from Scizor unless you have godly prediction skills.

The new transfer method isn't trading - you upload them all to your Pokemon Bank storage and from there transfer them into X and Y. It'll be significantly faster than any other method to date.

Oh yeah for sure...i meant in terms of trading my Platinum and HeartHold Pokemon into Black...that lump deposit will be something serious lol

*shakes fist*
i gave up on this after a month when trying for a shiny litwick

i fucked up my arcanine build and was gonna switch for litwick, but i refuse to add it unless its a shiny

Someone in this thread mentioned it being easier to get shinies in X/Y than other gens. Was that just wishful thinking or is this legit?

Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend starts early.

Okay, that might take some time. I did about 200 yesterday from Platinum to White... It took about 3.5 hours of that awful minigame.

It's like a 1 in 8000 chance of getting one. In all my years of playing different versions from young teenager to Adult, I had encounter a totally number of 2. I also got Pokerus once, which I think it's even rarer.

Never fund a legit shiny in the wild, but I got the pokerus twice: first in HG and then in SS.

I caught 2 shinies legit in the wild, both during Gen 3. Dunsparce (lol) and a Tentacruel.

what were these gen 3->4 and 4->5 transfers, haven't played since gen 3 xD

Gen 3 to 4 was something called Pal Park. It was like a Safari Zone thing where you go and catch your pokemon from previous game. Problem was, you could only do 6 a day. So it took absolutely ages to send over everything from 3 generations worth.

Gen 4 to 5 is a minigame where you have to shoot them with some pokemon catapult. Pretty annoying, but you can do it as often as you want atleast.

Still no gen 5 Mega Pokémon? Man, I just want to see what Mega Galvantula looks like. Probably some kind of Shelob/Aragog with more yellow fur. This time it should receive back legs. 4-leg tarantula is unacceptable.

Mostly right. HG/SS did away with the 6 a day limit. You could still only do 6 at a time, but you could do it as many times as you wanted to.

My prediction skills are pretty godlike haha, but maybe Scizor is a hard counter. Any other reasons to run sub? I was thinking of running Sludge Bomb to mess with fairies too, but I don't think losing focus blast or shadow ball is worth it.

Agreed. They shouldn't even give fan favorite pokemon a mega if they can't make a good design.

Nah, that's arguable. I like MGengar's design, and it helps if you see him coming out of the ground rather than floating. I don't like MAmpharos's design (don't kill me), so should it not have gotten a mega?

This is my hand. It hasn't found an early copy of Pokemon, thus it is empty.

Vegas, why won't you sell me the game?

You're in Vegas too? I've been trying all week at random places, basically have given up tho, but I'm gonna try my luck at Walmart tonight when I get outta the gym.
