The fact that we're encountering Mega Evolutions that aren't even mentioned in this list excites me greatly. Alakazam, Manectric, Banette... Really raises hope that GameFreak has much more in store than what we realize.

Regarding Mega Scizor: Its design is fantastic, but I'm terrified of what this is going to bring to the metagame; Scizor was already scary as balls and was used more than just frequently. Makes me wonder how the competitive Pokemon scene is gonna handle Mega Evolutions and how the new metagame is going to develop in general.

Only six more hours! :D :D :D :D

Interesting at that 600 BST. Same as pseudos. I wonder if Megas will just have 600 BST. However, we already have some pseudo Megaevolutions--Garchomp and T-tar.
 
Information from /vp/ about that boutique:

If you want to get into the shop in Lumiose City you have to follow a pattern about your clothing, which means that you can’t wear whatever you want. With my girl character they let me in when all I was wearing was clothes with a pink ribbon on the icon of the item. I didn’t try with blue and black ribbons yet, but I think that the game wants you to at least respect the distinction they made between the clothes.
So this shop doesn’t have anything special , except that you can see the clothes for both sex. You can’t buy them, you can’t try them, but you can see them on the mannequins. Now for the girl clothes you can buy there, there’s 3 outfits like in any other shop. You can have :
>Red/Black top with a white ribbon, red skirt, white long socks and small black shoes
>Masculine outfit with a dark-blue life-jacket, red tie and white shirt, dark-blue trousers and brown shoes
>Girly light-brown trenchcoat with long white socks with a black stripe.

Everything in there is very expensive, shoes are 85000p and 110000p, top are 100000p and 120000p, the skirt is 80000p, the trousers 180000p, and you can buy the trenchcoat for 300000p. But there’s also an old lady in there that says that you can have a discount, but I have still to find how.

Technician ensures that Scizor shall once again rise as the best capturing Pokemon ever. 80BP False Swipe? Yes.
Not to mention Fury Swipes, that'll be freaking awesome now, starting off 2x as strong as before.

Also that sky high attack. I'm really glad Megas are all getting 600 totals.
 
Mega Scizor's design is far too busy - too many adulterants on what was previously a near perfect design. It seems so parochial a change compared to some of the other mega evolutions as well i.e aggron, bannete
 
Mega Scizor's Bullet Punch is going to be monstrous. The only thing that can save the metagame now is a Mega Arcanine with an ability to turn normal moves into fire types to use a blazing Extremespeed.
 
Eh, I think a normal scizor with life orb/choice band has an higher attack than the mega version but with those defenses he's gonna be much more viable as a bulky sweeper.

Think about it this way. Mega Scizor could probably get in one or even two Sword Dances with that bulk and just start sweeping with Bullet Punch and Bug Bite, which provide great STAB boosted coverage. Scary and not unlike Gen V Scizor.
 
Mega Scyzor looks awesome, poor Fairies.

Also how come we got stats for Mega Scyzor but not Alakazam, Banette, Pinsir and Heracross?
 
My future Scizor's moveset is easily going to be:
False Swipe/Bug Bite (Yay catching things)
Metal Claw
Fury Swipes
Bullet Punch

Oooh didn't think of Swords Dance...
 
Heat Rotom has a 1/4 resistance to Steel and a 1/2 resistance to Bug. On top of that, it has STAB Fire typing and excellent Defense (107). That's the best counter to Mega Scizor that I can think of for the time being.
 
I wonder if in future gens some Mega Stones will permanently evolve the Pokemon to the mega but just not have as high of stats. It seems like an OK choice for Pokemon that only have one or two forms but are getting Megas.

I usually run a Leftovers Scizor set with Swords Dance. So the increased defences are good for me. I'm really liking the newly discovered Megas, can't wait to see some more!

Scizor is also capable of learning Swords Dance. Take out the fire types and MS won't have a lot of trouble setting up for a sweep.
