Seriously what the hell?!? First I run into a Bagon on route 8. That's cool. I'll beat the elite four with a Salamence! Then I run into a Gible on route 10. Sweet! Garchomp has a mega, so I'll stick with that! Then I run into a freaking PUPITAR on Route 18! All before the final gym. Holy shit.

The great thing is that it's all optional. Story Mode is always just easy enough so that EV training is never required.
If you keep hitting the blank bag you can earn random bags that way, too. That'd probably be much faster.

I've scoured that fucking plaza, and there's nothing. I'm almost certain Heatran isn't referenced in the tourist's dialogue until the postgame, though.
Trevor's house is nearby, but that's about it.
It's been in a Double Battle with my Pangoro, and I'm fairly sure it isn't.

The game has almost every Pseudo Legendary. Only one of them isn't in this.

One other thing, is the only way to get EVs through Super Training? If I haven't yet super trained, would all my pokemon have 0 EVs?

You get EVs for killing Pokemon.

Ypu get EVs from battlign Pokémon. Like a Pidgey would give 2 speed EVs (or something like that). If you do super training you can focus the training more easily than fighting a bunch of the same things in a row. EVs determine the stats you'll get on level up so if you had max HP EVs you'd gain a lot of HP each level compared to other stats.
Super training is just a super easy way to max them out.
IIRC it's metagross. That or hydreigon.
Ice challenges are indeed a mixed bag. Candice was brutal because I didn't have anything good that could take out her Abomasnow.

Well wtf. How do you know what Pokemon have what effect on EVs? Can I reset the EVs I accidentally gained?
Bulbapedia (and most likely other sites) tells you which EVs a pokemon gives (if the pokemon is known). If a pokemon specializes in a stat (like magnemite line with SP. Atk) that pokemon will give you the evs for that stat. A pokemon will give 3 EVs max and there are ways to boost that or to give flat additional EVs (such as the power items).
Super Training is more efficient though.

Keep hitting the normal training bag, and eventually you'll be given a "Reset Bag" which completely resets all of the EVs that a Pokemon has gotten. It's an uncommon item though, so be prepared to whack that bag for a bit.
Save your game, and use a Reset Bag. It'll tell you the EVs that your Pokemon lost, and since it resets them all to 0, that essentially tells you what EVs it had. Then reset and reload your game.
Not great, but it's the only way as far as I know.

I did the training and it gave me a "Strength Bag." Is that what you're talking about? I can use bags as many times as I want, or they are finite?
Bags are one-use only, but you can keep hitting the default training bag and you'll get more bags. The one that resets the EVs is specifically called Reset Bag, and is just a plain white bag.

So if I want to reset the EVs for all my Pokemon on my team, it's going to take a while since I'm going to need to find 6 bags? -_-
Yep, you'll need to find 6 bags. But are these Pokemon you intend to use in online battles or the Battle Maison? If not, it's probably not worth the effort. You don't really need to know about IVs, EVs or natures to do the in-game story stuff.

Are Bagon and Gible extremely rare? I ran all through the grass on those routes and haven't seen a single one.
Bagon is sorta uncommon, but I didn't have much trouble running into one on Route 8. Gible is pretty common on Route 13.

Well I went to the trouble of catching some Pokemon I want for my final team that had complimentary Natures for their role. I had no clue that by playing the game with them normally it would be gimping whatever boosted stats they could potentially have, otherwise I would have done the Super Training thing the moment I caught them...really annoying how non-transparent the game is with how the stat gains work behind the scenes.
Now I'm going to have to grind my ass off to find these bags. And I still can't even figure out exactly how Super Training works, the tutorial is trash and just has me throw some soccer balls at some inflated shit.
Did anyone NOT see Lysandre being the boss of Team Flare coming?

The more games you win, the more EVs you gain for that particular stat. Keep playing those games and using the bags gained to earn more EVs until you can't anymore.

akeIf I have 12 bags (all slots filled) looted from spamming the default bag, is that the max amount I can find before using some to make room? Or will it make room if I keep going? Trying to find some reset bags but found a bunch others instead.
Edit: My Pikachu looks all excited with a smiley bubble next to him. I guess high happiness makes them better at training?

I know I found Ampharosite during my playthrough. It was in the surf area near.. Cave of Sea something. Sorry, I can't rmemeber. The cave had "sea" in the name (northern part of Kalos)

I tried this to see what IVs my Alakazam has, and got this error:
"Alakazam Lv.20 does not compute!
Sp.Defense (47) should be 39 to 45.
The Effort Points or Nature may be inaccurate."
Special Defense is 47, I'm looking at it right here on my 3DS. Not sure what it is talking about with Effort Points, as in the calculator they are all set to 0 with no where for me to change them otherwise, and I don't even know what Effort Points are.
Edit: I used a reset bag on him to make sure he was at base stats.
