I think reasonable people have no issue with staffers getting the subsidy. Where I think people have a problem is they want to say to Congress "Look asshole, you have no fucking clue what you're voting on, you clearly did not understand this provision, and if you didn't understand this, how do we know you have any clue what your talking about when passing any legislation?"
It's out of spite. But sometimes it's fun to be spiteful.

They might as well put in that bill that Obama must wear a tutu with swastikas on it and during his impeachment for wearing an offensive piece of clothing he will have to pay for the ACA out of his own pocket. If he cannot afford it then that means the Supreme Court becomes void and null and all responsibities go to the House GOP only.
Maybe the system works perfectly and we elected people who represent what we want, which is ignorance, guns, and chaos.

It's worth noting that if the House bill passes, Reid can simply remove the offending parts, pass it in the senate, and send it back. The budget numbers are the same in both bills. Reid could even backstab the senate GOP if he wanted, by not adding any concessions they've discussed.
