I actually liked the first next gen NBA live, didn't buy it but I rented it a ton from Hollywood video, they actually tried new features like shooting around while it loaded, was cool lol and the graphics felt next gen(at the time in 2005)
but this, oh jeez EA cmon :/ smh its about a month away and you are giving us teasers , just like madden it looks like garbage.
If this gets cancelled or delayed I wouldn't be surprised.

Notice that the year they make the best NBA Live this gen is the only year when Mike Wang was aboard (head guy of 2K basketball from 2007-2008 and from 2010 to now).
Notice that when he leaves we get Jesus Bynum, a cancelled game, a year off, and then another cancelled game. Now EA's next gen offering isn't even looking that hot.

'96 was the same damn game but with tons more added in (create a team, create a player, etc). So no.
I don't care as much about graphics as I do gameplay.
The still implement way too many cheating mechanisms into the game to sway wins vs losses, or comebacks. It's not rubber banding, more like quicksanding.
Very hard to respect either of these franchises, both have questionable handling of game ebb and flow.
Let ME lose or win the game, don't take control over my player, don't suddenly turn my teammates into shit.

NBA2K14 next gen on ps4 gameplay in about what, 2 hours? Right guys, right....?I am indifferent to all the teasers and trailers.
EA & 2K should start blowing out the features list and full gameplay vids. It's less than a month away and I don't know jack squat about next gen Bball, other than screen shots and some snippets of 'gameplay'.

Why do they even try? Live has been outclassed for nearly 15 years now by 2K. Unless their investment is so minimal (which looks to be accurate) that even modest sales will turn a profit, this is doing nothing but hurting the EA Sports brand.
But perhaps that's why they feel compelled to compete in the market. The pride of having a rounded sports portfolio, even if it does only consist of one good series (NHL).

Edit: I'd like to make a not-so-bold prediction. This game is gonna get canceled. The backlash from the trailers is gonna be so harsh they are gonna shitcan it like they did elite.
I did, despite its flaws I loved Live 10 because of its crowd atmosphere...........that was about it lol.
But I wanted to dream....that we could get a good competitor to 2K14.....apparently not.

I played live til 2007 then transitioned to 2K. I guess with this clip I'll definitely stay with 2k.

The more I see and read about Ignite, the more I'm sure its not a new engine but more of a toolbox for everyone to throw their engines in and share across the company.

I'll never understand why so many sports games fail so hard. I assume it's because of very limited budgets, but I've never once heard a "gaming journalist" actually report on this stuff.

To be honest we know nothing about the gameplay. But, IF EA's faces aren't up to 2k level, why show a close up of Nash? Comparisons are bound to happen. The detail shown in the trailer isn't close to the screenshots. Not sure if EA marketing has a grasp of what they are doing.

All EA Sports titles have a kinda cartoony look to them compared to 2K. I noticed this on 2K5 vs that year's Madden. It's just what they like. You could take those Live models, plop them in a NBA Street game and they'd fit stylistically.
Not forgiving them, but just sayin for everyone thinking they're bad because they aren't as realistic as 2K.
