Holy shit, this game is so fun. I haven't played a Pokemon game since Gen II, I think, and I'm having a blast. I literally spent like 2 hours straight doing Wonder Trade yesterday. I'M ADDICTED SEND HALP. Can't wait to start breeding~

Controls

Tap to shoot balls. Hold to charge shots. Move with the Control Stick. Press L to block. D-Pad up to fly closer to the Pokemon baloon, D-Pad down to put more distance between you and the Pokemon baloon.

Gameplay

Try to shoot these balls into the white target markers. Don't get hit. Keep moving to avoid getting hit by the opponent's balls. At the beginning it is usually wise to keep using uncharged shots until the Pokemon baloon starts to emit steam and the white target markers are replaced by a single red one. To force this change you need to hit all of the white markers, if you are too slow they disappear. Unlike the white markers this marker won't disappear for a few seconds, making it the perfect time to sneak in a few charged shots and score higher.

After you've got some experience (and accuracy) you should begin to use more and more charged shots on the white markers, which will improve the time it takes you to clear the stage.

Training Lv 1: +1 EV
Training Lv 2: +4 EV
Training Lv 3: +12 EV

GENERALLY YOU CAN START AT Lv2. The training is easy enough and will give you more EV. After a few sessions change to Lv3!!!

Against the attack of the baloon you have two options: Dodge or block.
Usually you dodge the balls (keep in mind: You'll briefly stop moving if you fire a ball), blocking is a last resort for two reasons:

- It takes a few frames to deploy the block
- You cannot attack during the duration of the block

However, depending on your stats (I'll come to this later) blocking multiple balls is possible with a block.

Going back to dodging, usually enemy attacks follow a certain pattern. Mostly they are deployed at a fixed time in a fixed pattern. Like yourself, the Pokemon baloons can charge their attacks. You'll notice a purple glow around them if they do. Try to hit all remaining target markers ASAP, this can sometimes disrupt them.

Special enemy ball forms

- Giant Ball -> Keep moving
- Barrage -> Follow the pattern of the attack to dodge it (usually a spiral)

- Horizontal large balls -> Fly upwards/downvards
- Vertical large balls -> Fly left/right
=> Usually those two are used together. Flying in a circle is necessary to avoid getting hit. If you are confused the shield will be your best bet to avoid losing points.

Barrage of Horizontal Giant Balls: Wait until they are close. Slowly move up/down to fit in the narrow gap between them (or block)

Stats

There are Six Different Stats in Super Training:

Attack
- 4 points of Attack increase the "real" Attack stat by 1
- Increases the "damage" of your Balls

Special attack
- 4 points of Sp. Atk increase the "real" Sp. Atk stat by 1
- Increases the "damage" of your balls

HP

- 4 points of HP increase the "real" HP stat by 1
- Decreases the damage you take when an enemy ball hits you

Speed

- 4 points of Speed increase the "real" Speed stat by 1
- Increases the speed and accuracy of your balls

Defense

- 4 points of Defense increase the "real" Defense stat by 1
- Decreses the charge time of your Super Shots

Sp. Defense

- 4 points of Sp. Defense increase the "real" Defense stat by 1
- Decreses the charge time of your Super Shots

Training bags

They are dropped after each round. If you manage to get the medals you'll get dropped better ones.

Size S: +1 EV
Size M:+4 EV
Size L:+12 EV

You also can get certain special bags with unique effects, such as 2x EV, 2x stats during the training and more. Tap them yourself to increase the speed in which they are activated.

Secret training

After gaining all 510 EV two more levels of training are unlocked. You can earn unique items and better Punching Bags in this training, but it is far more difficult with unique victory and loss conditions.

Yup.

Just before the 8th gym.

EDIT:

King's Shield. It's protect with an added bonus of lowering their attack under certain conditions, and has 10PP. Doesn't say anything about lowering success rate after usage either.
I think it only blocks attacks because IIRC, I've been T-waved through KS.

So eh, I haven't played Pokemon properly since Red and Blue!

Is this an adventure worth getting into before ALBW? Need something to play on my 3DS.

It's actually pretty good in terms of adventure. Rather than compete with a rival, you go out as part of a group of friends who get together from titme to time. They are likeable characters who provide some funny moments like
when you go visit the Pokeball factory with two of those friends and they get chased around by a Team Flare member

The "bad guys" are also funny to interact with. All in all, gen 1 and 2 are the only games I completed to the end, but this game blows those two out of the water in terms of the adventure itself and on things to do.

If you don't tip in pokemon you are an enemy of the working class.

Did some trades with a fellow gaffer. Felt bad because I don't feel like I have a lot of variety yet...even though I have like 3 boxes full.

Also, still not comfortable knowing what a "fair" trade is. i.e. I think he puts up a cool/rare pokemon, and I try to match it on those levels but am not sure if I actually am.

Ugh... it's killing me not knowing all the Egg Moves available for new Pokemon. Is anyone collating a list anywhere?

Oh god, just found my favorite Spotted! theme from a maid in the Battle Chatteau. I can't find it on Youtube anywhere though. :(

Edit: Also lol at Viscountess Julia.

i pressed a too quickly and didn't tip the spookyman :(

i think he haunted me with shitty friend safaris

Anyways, I've been feeling motivated to do some IV breeding with this news of Destiny Knot, but I'm still not sure how to go about breeding stuff so they pass down good IVs. Are there any good breeding guides out there? I'd imagine having a friend with a Ditto in their Safari would help, but no such luck.

Have people been using their real first names for their characters or been making them up? I can never decide which way to go.

I always use my real name in Pokemon. It's weird looking at my friends list and seeing names like "LOST" and "Bilbo" and not knowing who they are

The IVs that they pass down are random. Your best bet is to friend safari a Ditto with 5 good IVs, breed a female of something you want with the right nature and ability with that Ditto as a parent. Granted this you don't get one you want before this, you breed that Ditto and female pokemon with Destiny Knot and Everstone respectively until you get something you like.

How long until the inevitable Pokémon Z is released ? Two years ?

pokemon grey seemed like such an obvious release, but then we got black2/white2, so who knows? i believe black2/white2 were released only a year after black/white. we will definitely have a pokemon game in the next 2 years, whether it's a z, y2/x2, or ruby/sapphire.

I always use my real name, too. Maybe if the game had crazy character customization I wouldn't but it's always been non-existent in Pokemon(or very limited like in this one). The avatar acts as a simple representation of yourself in the Pokemon games so I feel like my name is the only viable choice. Kind of how I feel about making my character in Animal Crossing as well.

Can anybody recommend me a good EV spread for Phantump? I have an Adamant nature, so I'm already going to be maxing Attack, but I'm torn as to where I should spend my remaining EV points.

Guys, how should I make a good Venusaur in terms of moves?

I'm thinking Leech Seed//Toxic/Venoshock/Giga Drain

Maybe replacing something with Sunny Day?

Poison isn't a good attacking type - you'll want something with better coverage.

Leech Seed is redundant with Giga Drain as well.

I'm personally a fan of sleep powder.

http://serebii.net/games/breed.shtml

That's a little more straightforward. Basically you just leave two compatible Pokemon in the day care, they lay an egg. It inherits some hidden stats from it's parents, along with possibly nature, new moves and certain abilities. Having parents hold certain items influences what gets passed down.

If you're already pretty familiar with EV/IV stuff and the core concept, here's a more in depth overview:

Thanks so much!

:p Just beat the E4. Seeing AZ smile gave me so many feels for some reason. That, and the Floette returning.

Wish a flower like that was obtainable in-game.

Depends on what kind of Venusaur you are trying to make.

You got a mix of kinda bulky with the whole toxic/venoshock thing going on.

The main concern is that you'll get walled by steels like nobody's business. You could drop Leech Seed for Hidden Power Fire or something else.

Or go for the stall with Sleep Powder and Leech Seed and drop Toxic and Venoshock.

Wow, that save thing is pretty insane. Glad I'm nowhere near there.

I also just booted up White so I could go to Gamestop and get that shiny Giratina. Wow, they really did make a pretty huge jump in X and Y. I kinda forgot how White looked. -.-
