New gameplay screenshots of The Order 1886

God, this just looks incredible. Besides the visuals though, I'm just loving the whole setting and atmosphere they have going on here. As many others have pointed out, the character designs are so on point. Can't wait to see this in motion.

Yeah I didn't know how much I was itching for some Hammer Horror, Victorian, steampunk monster-killing action until these screenshots. I'm loving the aesthetic, loving the characters and atmosphere. And I really love the fact that the female character is not done up like a 40DD p0rn star. Sad that I have to say that but there's the gaming industry for you.

Really so much to like here. I can certainly welcome this to my hype list.:-)

Wow, what a spectacular game.

Dat mustaches... that soft look.... that character design...

Btw, this is the first time we managed to see monster claw marks on the neck of Lady Ingraine.

Gamersyde have the pics up...Look pretty damn good to me, although environment doesn't look spectacular in screens. To be fair many parts of 19th century London were pretty drab though:

Holy shit, those high quality pics!

These needs to be added in the OP and the thread title have to be edited.

Refreshing to see a developer not afraid of releasing proper framebuffer pictures instead of bullshots. This looks DAMN good. It really does look like it was shot through a camera lens.

Such a wide aspect ratio yet such a low fov, UGH
Why bother with the 'cinematic' aspect ratio (with the black bars to save performance but totally not bc of that pinky swear) then negate the effect it might have with this awful FOV

I could understand the awful fov in games on the last gen consoles, but now there really should be no excuse for it anymore with better hardware.

also why do they use a grain filter? grain filters SUCK (anyone remember fear 2?...just awful)

While the daytime screens look marvelous, specially the one where Sir Galasomething is shooting, there's something about those shots in the dark with their flashlights that look amazing.

They don't only look good, but there's a great sense of suspense and danger in them. Impressive how I can feel that just by watching these stills.

I pray that the script and acting is up there with TLOU because these graphics deserve the best presentation. Amazing. Now ND, you have competition!

I have to agree that the field of view is WAY too low. But I think the film grain combined with Tue other lens simulations looks great.

Horizontal FoV is not about aspect ratio, it's about the size of a screen, and the player's distance from it.

Wow. The high quality screens look fantastic.

I know terms like filmic are often maligned here, but the look RAD has achieved here with the grain, other post processing, and soft lighting has resulted in probably the most "real" and natural looking game yet in my eyes.

I love everything about this game except the resolution. It simply doesn't make sense for a video game. Unlike a movie, in a video game, if you want to see more of the screen/environment... you have the ability to pan the camera.

It buys them more fillrate - I don't want all my games to do it but I have no major objection to this stuff TBH.

You crazy, this is by far the best and most realistic film grain filter I've seen. It's subtle and looks amazing. Adds a lot of texture to the image.

Have to agree with this. I'm not a fan of grain, but it looks pretty nice in these screens.

Will have to wait for gameplay footage to see how it looks in motion though.
