This game is pretty legit. Better than ATB (and I didn't think ATB was this beast to be hated, either).
Pictlogica: Final Fantasy. If you have an Android device, you can just use it to log in with your google account and get the app from the Square Enix store.
It's just a 5x5 grid to work with, but it's pretty neat how it factors into battles. The more mistakes you make, the less damage you do.

Okay. Now that I've played a little bit more of it, the Picross aspect doesn't seem to get harder and harder as you go on, which is a huge shame.
It's really really easy, and I do wish they made it harder and harder as you progressed... hm.

Seriously, if you hit the button on the left, it asks me to say "yes"/"no" to something, but I'm not sure what. Button on the right does nothing.

You need to sign-in to Square Enix with your Google Account on your tablet/phone, though. If you do it on your computer, it won't work. I was trying and was like, ok.

That thread is worth it just to see Cboat give Penello the proverbial smackdown. Even Bish has taken shelter from the inevitable fallout of everything.
It was obvious enough why him and Major Nelson registered here in the first place, but having someone call them out on it is always great. Someone in that thread called it the "Avengers" of gaf insiders and the comparison is all too apt.

It's not about the PS4 version looking "slightly better". It's about how, even at launch, a game as unimpressive looking as CoD ghosts has issues running at anything higher than 720p on XB1, a console that's supposed to be superior to it's predecessor. Other posts suggest that running at 720p is the least of it's problems (crashes, hang ups, etc). For a console that is charging $100 more than the competition to be so significantly crippled IS something that's gonna have people talking.
Also, keep in mind that more power does not only equal better graphics. The worst case scenario for the XB1 is for every multiplat to be a Bayonetta 360/PS3 comparison.

I was pretty excited about it from the get go (playable Peach! Super Mario Bros. 2 abilities!) but it's definitely looked better each time they've showed it.

Er, that's on phones. Not 3DS, notice the top half not being wide and the fact the first and 4th snapshots aren't "split" UI-wise.

ah okay. i'm not sure people are really going to be that aware of it though. i get a feeling most of the fanbase will be on ps3/360 until at least 2015, and the people buying the xbox one will be getting it for forza, dead rising, and other exclusives. microsoft's doing what they can to keep the dudebro segment around, and sony's still on their cinematic lean with stuff like killzone and infamous. i don't see how this changes the split in america much.

He's everywhere, having been with the series for twenty years now, and that's the story of how the least qualified composer on staff got to do Sonic 4. Or, given the way the games turned out, maybe that's exactly why he was assigned to them. It is a mystery.
Sky Fortress's music is basically Final Fortress redux. A little less sleepy and a little more varied, but the principle, like the name, is basically the same. And that's really not too bad a thing, since Final Fortress would've been alright with a good kick in the pants (we'll be getting back to that). The worst thing I can say about this is that it's directionless; the intensity never changes, it doesn't build to anything, it doesn't go anywhere, and it doesn't even take a breather. There's a difference between being exciting and just being loud, and Sky Fortress doesn't get it. (additional reading: Metropolis Zone, Crank the Heat Up, Cosmic Angel, Terminal Velocity)

I've always liked the lead starting at 0:13, but yeah, I'd never even considered that it never really goes anywhere with it. The backing synths are pretty loud, too, so there's no build-up in volume or anything...

I find this noticeably worse then the Act 2 version with its messier beginning, sort of decent theme at its core that of course suffers from the Sonic 4 soundfont as well, more so because it has so much going on that it just gets too noisy if that makes any sense.
To reiterate Act 2 is better in pretty much every respect to me.

I've been tracking down old album booklets for curiosity's sake. One for the 1-disc SA2 OST has lyrics for some of the rap.
They're amazing.
They're not precisely accurate either, but the lyrics for all of the other songs are fine, so I can only assume that this isn't just a weird transcription but what Hunnid-P actually submitted.
