Pokémon XY |OT2| Would you like to leave a tip?

The PR videos are...something else. I sort of wish they would of been the original 'reveal' teaser of the game, because damn are they hilariously dorky.

Question: Why when I use the Destiny Knot do the hatched Pokemon sometimes get only 3 maxed IVs when the parents only have a 2 IV discrepancy between them?

As far as I know, it always takes 5 IVs from both parents. You might get unlucky and have the few non-perferct IVs get picked. I'm honestly not 100% clear about the exact mechanics, but I do think destiny knot is "always 5" as opposed to the old way which I think was "up to" 3.

The metagame is more like: stealth rock, earthquake, mega blaziken.

Jokes aside, breeding is only for getting stats and moves you want. The rest lies on a team which can revolve around setting traps, status ailments, walling physical or special damage, a sweeper which is designed to plow through teams with sheer damage, and then trying to fight out for type advantage.

more like Stealth Rock, Edgequake, (Mega) Blaziken, Talonflame as a Blaziken counter, Aegislash, and Greninja

I think Togekiss might actually end up in Ubers as a heavy support unit with the new typing. Not enough Steel types to worry about, completely shuts down Garchomp, immediate advantage over Dragons which are crazy common in Ubers, large movepool, Serene Grace abuse, Roost for pure Fairy, etc.

still weak to Stone Edge, also Ice and Electric attacks
not to mention Mega Gengar throwing Sludge Bombs

Can't remember if i posted this yet or not. I was walking around in Luminose and something caught my eye as I went past that really expensive Boutique there. I turned and realized there was a silhouette that just happened to look like our old glitchy pal.

Fuuuuu I just realized I had a Japanese Gale Wings Fletchling. I really should stop releasing Pokemon from Wonder Trade. I almost released a Pancham with Pokerus a few days ago.

Roost can at least handle the ice / electric weak and it gets Ancientpower iirc.

Mega Gengar could be a problem, yeah, but I think Togekiss could potentially tank a sludge bomb and then let off a Shadow Ball itself.

Man, chasing down Zapdos is a pain in the ass.

Any tips? I can't exactly Fly because he goes to the other side of the map.
It took me about an hour to catch my Moltres, which seemed much quicker than some of the other methods I've seen. Obviously, you'll want to stock up on max repels. Then, just keep flying to Santalune City. If Zapdos is in a nearby route, use a max repel and race over in your bike. If he isn't, just fly to Santalune City again. The legendary birds seem to only really jump around the map when you fly. If you're merely riding your bike, they only tend to hop over to a nearby route on occasion, making them easy to chase down. It's up to you on what you consider a nearby route, but for my purposes it was 2-7 and 17-22.

huh Togekiss is surprisingly tanky, even after Stealth Rock it's still <20% chance of killing
(granted, I used a Sp. Def build)

Quick question. Is there any item introduced in X and Y that increases your Speed in battle? I'm going to try running an Imposter Ditto for the fun of it, and would like to guarantee outspeeding my opponents (Instead of getting a speed tie). I know that Choice Scarf is the main option, but wasn't sure if I missed something new that wouldn't lock me into one move.

Fucking Juan plaza and that stupid Lava Dome conversation.
This is grade-A gamefreak trolling right here.

On that note, I find it kinda funny that Bulletproof Chesnaught is immune to the biggest Poison threat and one of the most prominent phyiscal steel moves.
Playing with MewTwo in Pokemon Amie is so very strange. Even when its happy to see you it looks pissed.

I'm curious as to how it will work with Regigigas.
I think he'll probably just stay napping.

Yeah, I guess thats true.
If I ever manage to get a shiny Imposter Ditto, it would be in my party all the time.

I caught a shiny imposter Ditto several days ago. I know it sounds like it could be the best shiny pokemon you could possibly get, but it's actually the worst because it transforms into a regular version of the opposing pokemon as soon as it enters battle. So the shiny Ditto only gets about two seconds of facetime.

Here's the piece of shit I caught:

How is it an imposter? Even if the Ditto is shiny, why would it become a shiny version of the pokemon it copies? Unless it's copying a shiny then it would make no sense.

Edit: I think it's a cool novelty shiny anyways.

So what are some good Sylveon builds?

Sylveon has a couple kinds of builds. She can either go semi-bulky special attacker or full-on special wall with some powerful offense. The offensive builds don't seem as viable as the defensive ones, to be honest. Offensive one usually are based on Calm Mind, Moonblast+a couple coverage special moves. Defensive builds come in a few kinds. They are typically either Wish based (possibly with baton pass) or Protect/Screen based. Defensive builds will also run moonblast, though, because that move is great and it allows her not only to be bulky, but hit dragons super hard as well.

Are there any stats out for Dragalgae yet? I looked at Smogon but couldnt find anything.

goes well with Trick Room, it's slow as hell
speaking of Trick Room, that's one way to screw with Sticky Web and any contrary users that try to boost their speed off your webs *cough*
(Contrary Serperior is coming soon!)

So I was looking at the top 100's lists on Serebii, just to get an idea of what I may wanna look for. Saw a Rampardos in number 2 spot on Attack.. It's got god awful stats, except for the second highest attack in the game. Should that be avoided though, in favor of more well-rounded pokemon? Was thinking of using him as glass cannon with substitute in mind.

I run a Rampardos competitively! Here's my build:

Rampardos
@Choice Scarf
Adamant
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
~Fire Punch
~Zen Headbutt

If you can get some momentum going, the enemy team is as good as dead. Just be sure to get him out of there if he's in trouble!

God, soft-resetting for Zapdos is gonna be a pain in the ass. Not only do I have to SR for five good IVs (I know I get three 31 IVs but Zapdos needs everything but Attack to be good) but I have to SR for Hidden Power as well since he has no movepool.

I guess I could go for the TBolt/Sub/Toxic/Roost set.

Even with that giant attack he's terrible. I don't think much has changed for him this generation either.

Hmm, how time-consuming is it to get the skull fossil that Cranidos comes from? I bashed lotsa rocks in glittering cave and only ever found an Old Amber for an Aerodactyl.

Good stuff Beats.
Close games for some, but Goodra was just too strong, and Pikachu completely destroyed your synergy.

Good games. I'm guessing you have Assault vest on Goodra? I'm surprised those meteors didn't kill ;_;. Yeah, Pikachu and Mega Mawile definitely threw me off lol. Gonna rethink some stuff for my party.

Can someone please answer this question in regards to the Matsuda method?

When is whether it is shiny calculated? Could you theoretically soft reset with a group of 6 eggs about to hatch over and over again? Would that work?

No. It is RNGed when you pick up the egg.

Everything is determined when you get the egg.
