Are items like calcium and protein usable after a pokemon is fully EV-trained, or are they just a way to speed up the process?

I think it kept track of how many pokemon you have in the box, when you arrived at specific amount of pokemon then they would unlock more boxes.

They just add 10 EVs to the stat and stop taking effect after the stat is over 100 EVs.

If that stat has more than 100 EVs in it or your total is 510 you can not use them. So in that sense that it speeds up the process really. 49k (bargain level 3) for 100 EVs (10 EVs per use).
But the time it takes to use 10 of those items is might be possible to kill 2 optimal hordes (which net the same or more EVs under optimal condition of appropriate stat power item held and Pokerus).
Also worth noting that the EV-down berries (there are mutations/cross pollination, you'll have to grow combinations of other berries) when used on a stat with EV greater than 100 reduce it to 100. But if EV in the stat <=100 it will remove 10 EVs (these berries can be quicker than finding a reset bag in super training when sorting out EV problems).
Most likely the latter. I couldn't use the region filter or the Pokemon I own filter. I didn't try yet though.

I got a Timid Protean Froakie in wondertrade that had 0 ivs in speed
I swear Wondertrade breaks my heart too often.
On the bright side, I managed to flip it for a Safari Ditto in GTS.

they can only be used before the Pokemon has 100 EVs in that stat (so each one can be used 10 times on a fresh Pokemon).
Trade the pokemon you wanna keep to someone and get them to trade them back.
Don't think there's a save backup function for this.

Hey guys, I'm presently Breeding a Scyther until I get a pretty good (or perfect one).
I finally got a Adamant Scyther so I can go to the next step, IV's.
Since I cannot get a Scyther in Safari (no one got one so far, so I don't expect it's a rare one) to have one with 2 perfect IV, what would be the best course for me to take?
Farm Dittos Until I get good ones with the right IV, then Breed new scythers (with the destiny Knot) while changing Dittos from time to time until I get the perfect one?
The perfect one would be 31/31/31/x/31/31 anyway.

Wait until the cloud bank comes out in December, then you can back up your Pokemon and restart.
By the time it comes out, you hopefully won't feel too bad about re-collecting all the items and stuff.
That would work. You could also check if you have anything in your Safari that breeds with Scyther. It could make getting IVs easier.
As long as it's a female Scyther, any bug will do.
Why do you disregard the fourth stat?
That's the Special Attack IV, and it's utterly irrelevant to Scyther/Scizor.

You need to have a party full of level 100 Pikablus first though.
Standard battle rules use item clause iirc, not sure about the flat battle rules.

Amulet coin and trainer prize money O-power (especially on Gym leader, rival, important team flare people*) have me richer than I've ever been...not at the 8th Gym and I have over 2 million...
*-You can easily be getting 60k from a battle of these.
But as for tipping. Given how many shinies were found people thought tipping helped here but there is no evidence (besides, there being over 4 million players is an explanation).

Perhaps someone here can help answer my question, because I have yet to find an answer: I picked up an Aspear Berry yesterday and accidently used it when making mulch, so now I no longer have it. I was hoping I could get another one from the same place today, but no luck. Will the original spot eventually drop another berry for me to pick up, or do I have to use alternate methods?
Another one will fall off the original tree eventually, but it can take a few days.

I've heard you can kill it and then come back right after, and have it so you can soft reset, see it's nature and all that without watching cutscenes. Try it and see if it works.

Will do, I'm on the city right after the 6th gym and I've been told I'm close to fighting Xerneas. It's not like I'll use it against other people, but now that 3 of its IVs are going to be 31, I'll try to catch the best Xerneas I can.
Follow up question, I understand you can change natures now? Or was it abilities? Can you do that with legendaries?
