Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | October 2013 | Ver 2000, Batman and some Angry Birds

Tried that destiny of spirits beta game
fml, is this how things are gona be on vita now? those horrible whalemagnet skinnerbox facebook games are going to be appearing on vita too now...?

For shame sony for allowing this kind of crap on your store.

You should rinse Superior Summoning and hope for a vampire character wielding a sword. They've got a special attack that does a guaranteed 1000 damage. Makes every boss a complete haha-holocaust.

I'm on my JP account (and my other account is HK >_<), so I'm on Destiny of Spirits Asia.

I assume you're talking about Vampire Hunter (DoS EU). I'm already at that point where bosses have 4k to 7k HPs. Unfortunately, fixed damage don't scale with crits, elements, or damage increase (receive % more damage skills).

Kuro (the rare one I think) has a kickass skill when I used him as a supporter. 85% Chance to Counter (up to 10 counters) for entire party. It was awesome on boss fights since you can focus fire on bosses and minions still die anyways due to counters.

Any rumors about the yearly IGC switch in November?

Little Big Planet would be a safe bet I think. The other one, what do yout guys think?

Just throwing this out there - devil's advocate style:

Many people have been saying that games like Batman and Lego Marvel on vita have sufferered due to the co-development between vita and 3DS...

Well, there is no way these games would have been made for the vita if the devs were dealing with the vita's install base alone.

Perhaps we're lucky to have the 3DS association?

I'll agree that both LEGO Batman 2 & Lord of the Rings suffered on Vita as the DS/3DS were the lead platforms. But LEGO Marvel Superheroes is pretty damn good. It's an isometric 2D brawler with both touch and button controls. There is no open world hub, instead there are around 45 stages that come in sets of 3. Complete a set a d you unlock free play.

I'm really enjoying the game and I need to post some screen shots.

Need some advice guys, so i'm finally willing to try out The Walking Dead game, i don't much care for the series on AMC, i never watched it, but i've been hearing good things. I personally hate zombies, but does anyone recommend i play it, and if i do end up deciding to get it, shall i get it on PS3 or Vita? Does the latter have any glitches that mar the experience?

Every single version has some technical issues - but you should play it.

just bought P4G for ~20€ from play-asia, hope it is worth it!

Not sure if you've played a Persona or SMT game before or how much you know about Persona4 but it is a fantastic game. My advice to get the most enjoyment out of the game:
1) Don't look at any guide to map out the best way to maximize as many social links ("slinks") as possible. Just do what you want to do and have fun with it. You can always max out the slinks in a later runthrough if you really want to.
2) The game has a *lot* of cutscenes and dialogue. I found them to be very enjoyable and very funny. I advise you approach the game as if it is an interactive anime series and not skip the cutscenes. The story and script is very well done - one of the best I've ever experienced in a game and I normally can't stand most video game stories.
3) If you are experienced with RPGs then you may want to start out in hard difficulty but understand that it will be tough going at first. I started at hard difficulty and was having a time with it so dropped down to normal. Wish I had stuck it out in hard as normal ended up becoming way too easy after a while.

I'm jealous you get to go through this game for the first time. Most games people claim are "great" are not really that great in my opinion, but P4G surpassed my expectations and now sits as one of my favorite games of all time. So much so that I honestly haven't done everything left to do in the game yet after "winning" it because I just don't want it to end. I'll probably get to finishing it later this year.

I've had it on ps3 for a while now and only got to the second episode.

On vita I'm finding it to be much more enjoyable. But both versios have minor technical problems. Nothing game breaking tho, it's just that it could run a lil smoother.

If you don't have a particular preference, you might as well get it for PS3 while it's on sale for $3 ($5 if you don't have PS+) this week.

Thanks for the info guys, i've decided to wait but i'm definitely going to get it eventually on the Vita, seems like that type of game to be able to chill any where and play :)

I liked it but can't bring myself to load it up again now that batman is in my vita. One problem

So I'm 30minutes in, (12% apparently lol).

I've not done much, I'm in the Penguin 1/3, near the cell block thing. Anyway I'm at the elevator that is hanging by frayed threads. Please... my game is bugged lol what's going on! I'm setting up a small picnic of sorts and charging the vita to have a nice little session in the park before it rains but I don't want to be stuck on that part throughout! Any help appreciated.

Vanwinkle, open it, play :P Sell it off later if it's awful for you. I reckon it's okay and worth playing - I know you want to.

----edit nvm lol, such a noob

So I went to a Best Buy last night to get a 16 gb Vita card. They're still too expensive, but $40 for 16 seems more reasonable than the other options.

Anyway apparently everyone is thinking the same thing because all the cards were fully stocked except the 16 gb ones. I just said fuck it and bought the 32. Way more than what I wanted to pay for the little thing, but at least I can play some damn games now.

Pixel Junk Shooter getting a PC release. The rest shouldn't be too far behind, I'd imagine.

Port by DoubleEleven who did Pixel Junk Monsters Ultimate HD for PC & Vita, Limbo for Vita, working Frozen Synapse Tactics for Vita, and worked on LBPV.

I absolutely love the Pixel Junk Shooter games, so I'm hoping this is the stars aligning for PC builds that can scale down easily onto Vita.

Well, they already have PC PJ Eden.
So all they need is PC PJ Sidescroller.
And then they're done with the good PJ games. :P

Nailed it.

Uh... where to start.
(1) If you don't like zombies, not sure why you'd have any interest in the first place.
(2) If you don't like the comic or the TV series, not a good indicator that there's something you'll like in the game I'd wager.
(3) Isn't the first episode free on PSN for PS3? If it is, you could download it and play it as a demo of sorts, then decide if you'd like to play the whole game and if you'd want to do it on your PS3 or your Vita.

But... if you bought it at new MSRP, it's the same cost per GB that you would have spent on the 16gb card.
And now you shouldn't have to worry about cleaning the fridge, so to speak.

Though for $20 more, you could've gotten a 64gb...

So my to buy list until the end of the year:

BLACK FRIDAY

- Killzone Mercenary
- Walking Dead
- Batman

CHRISTMAS

- Tearaway
- Project Diva f (best price version)

do you like interactive narratives? if so, then get it. to me ( i played on ps3 ) the game was wayyy overrated. It did have some definite touching moments of story though. the gameplay is just blah, as is the game design. they are currently dirt cheap on ps3 sale this week though - so you may as well dig in now if they interest you at all.

End of year purchases for my vita are looking like:

Killzone
Tearaway
Ys
and probably an indie here or there.
thats plenty for me though.

Little Big Planet would be a safe bet I think. The other one, what do yout guys think?

I think LBP, PSABR, and Unit 13 ( maayyybe a racer instead) - there was another game i thought for sure would be in the IGC but i forget what it is atm.

I've read some impressions about Tearaway in a spanish website. It says it has a fairly good chance of being the best Media Molecule title to date. I'm ready for some N64 goodness xD

As if that's saying anything. The only reason anybody gave a shit about LBP1 and 2 was the creation aspect. The actual gameplay was very weak. They are not good platformers. But yeah Tearaway does look really good.

Not in 2014.
So it depends on your definition of "soon".

Play-Asia or Nippon-Yasan are two options you could go with for importing.

Just placed an order through nippon-yasan, thanks, says 2-3 days with fedex...would be unreal

also forget that batman question, not a bug :P

edit - 64GB you plebs! All those games brought back from limbo, can't wait! Could have bought a 2DS for that though hah. Still, all those 3DS games I'd have to begrudgingly buy at like full price to get a decent library.

Absolutely agree. I haven't NOT beaten every single mario i've played. i've now played all the 3 LBPs and haven't had the will to complete a single one

Playing 4 player LBP with friends is pretty fun. I've had a hard time playing MP on the Vita. I get massive touchpad lag, probably because I'm connecting to people on the other side of the world. But yeah playing it by yourself is kind of average.

It would kind of suck for me if we got PSASBR and LBP for EU Vita PS+ yearlies, as I just bought both when they were on sale. :D I actually liked both, and both me and the missus are particularly liking PSASBR on the PS3 (not entirely surprising as we both like Smash Bros, but still, this was a far better Smash Bros clone that I expected).

I think you meant to say it's far better than Smash Bros. even if the roster is a little wonky. ;)

Malicious Rebirth is definitely worse in the framerate department than the PS3 game.
I've been playing the PS3 game and Battlefield and Royal Escort were about the same, but the Forgotten Library and the Forbidden Floor were much better.

Gundam breaker(i'm afraid most of the footage is from the ps3 though)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTRJ97v2E8A

and madoka battle pentagram

trailers.

Man vk3 can be very hard! Side quest are generally easy, but in 2/5 stars(=mission difficulty score) bounty missions and story missions a single opponent can easily kill all my clan of 7 people! And a girl asked me to kill the king of skeletons, a 3/5 stars mission, i don't even have ever approached a single normal skeleton lol!
Damn, i need better equipment and my priests to get the skill that heals all the members of the clan.

Guacamelee AND Stranger's Wrath in the same month? Two games I would've bought already if UK PSN would take a German MasterCard?

Imagine me doing stupid laughing noises. Dat Plus man, dat Plus.
