Thats outstading lol
There are going to be confirmed sub-1080p games whenever they announce what BF4's resolution is.![]()
I don't know shit about programming but is a patch even possible for such a drastic change? It would be like the the most game-altering patch in video game history.
Considering Deep Down is 60 FPS and given what it looks like, I bet that's 720p. DAT LIGHTING /annoying person OMG DAT LIGHTING
BF4 is 900p in PS4 confirmed.
Whoa whoa. Didn't someone say that the PS4 reviews were embargoed until the 5th and the XBOne's on the 12th? Both are 10 days away from their respective launches. I have a problem with embargoes in general, but I'm not seeing the conspiracy here if this is the case. Both companies have an embargo 10 days prior to their respective launches.
Well, mortimer says that it's 1080p at present.
But you could certainly be right.
In any event, there will surely be sub-1080p games, and even 720p games, on the PS4 as well, depending on other development priorities and/or budgets for particular games. People who think everything is going to be 1080p are in for a rude awakening I imagine.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/member.php?u=1452OT but is Jeremy the ManaByte from GAF? I remember his Star Wars threads and swoon for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. lol
This man gets it.
The only way "resolution gate" matters is if 3rd party developers start coming out in droves forgoing the development of One versions of games. If we return to PS2-era volumes of exclusive software for Sony, then consumers will care.
Otherwise, the only people who will care are lurking or posting here. Lower visual fidelity relative to the competition didn't stop the Genesis, PS2, or Wii from selling in droves and being strong competitors...and at present there are fewer and fewer exclusive 3rd party games than in those generations past.
The GAF echo chamber is loud and entertaining, but feels out of touch. Sometimes too deep in the details many don't care strongly about. This is one of those times. Not to say that resolution and power differences aren't the base upon which many will decide which console to buy...but if it was *that* important, you'd probably be a PC gamer. If we see 3rd parties making more and more games PS4 exclusive this will be a big deal. Until then, multiplats -- which I think represent the largest segment of game sales (conjecture) -- will still be present and accounted for from all the franchises your average gamer these days want...while remaining the only place to play Gears, Halo and the rest for the forseeable future. That matters more than resolution, as much as it may bother some.
If the difference between the consoles is basically resolution, than is irrelevant for the mass market.
PM'd Bish and Kagari, heading out to the hospital for a bit, hopefully I check out this time.![]()
Are you suggesting he's wrong? please, elaborate.

Thank goodness. You had us all on edge there for a minute.for the record that is entirely my conjecture
Europe this week, North America next week.
Damn, all the Admins get to know the cool shit. Guess us peasants gotta wait till launch.PM'd Bish and Kagari, heading out to the hospital for a bit, hopefully I check out this time.![]()

There is no upscaling taking place in The Order. It's outputting a 1080p image with black bars. This is identical to Blu Ray output. If you consider that Sub-HD then you also consider Blu Ray to be sub-HD, and that's silly. Especially since that aspect ratio was decided on extremely early into the game's development.
And she wasn't even winded. What an amazon. Brushed off the chairs thrown at her too...
If it's like PC gaming, it'd probably a configuration INI file sitting somewhere in the folder structure.

Wait, if you're headed to the hospital, can we get an ETA on when you're coming back to post? Because I want to go to bed :'(
That would make a great Twitter hashtag!Exactly. This will quickly become 'I heard PS4 games look better'.
I dunno, I guess sarcasm is pretty hard to convey over the internet, especially considering how I've seen worse genuine fanboy posts than that.Is it because Xbone is submerged and drowning?
Maybe I am naive here, but I am sure that guys username was Astroturfing...maybe it's not to be taken seriously?![]()
Why isn't this a bigger deal then? :/
I swear this post could have been rewritten word for word with respect to the DRM announcements. In fact, it was, many times.
And here we are.
Time and again people underestimate the intelligence and preferences of the "average gamer".
Damn, all the Admins get to know the cool shit. Guess us peasants gotta wait till launch.
Can I? Or do I need to PM to get authorization?
Dude a 12 CU , 16 ROP, 1.3TFlop , 67GB/s card is god awful in the PC world. It was low-mid tier in 2009. A 100-120$ card.
The power of the X1 is not impressive at all. Not even in 2011 would it of been.
Please shut up if you dont know what your saying
This reply is years late, but this thread is moving a mile a minute. Not sure if the numbers are up to date, but 16 ROPS, 48 Texture Units and 12 CUs would put it somewhere between the 7770 and 7790. Likely much closer to the 1.28 TFLOP GPU than the 1.79 TFLOP GPU......... 1.37 tflops = 7770/7850 = 6950
Like how Uncharted 1 started off at 720p, then fell below 720p in Uncharted 2, again in Uncharted 3, and finally ended up at a significantly lower resolution than 720p in The Last of Us.
Oh wait.
guys
will playstation be king again this gen
pls
It just keeps getting better.PM'd Bish and Kagari, heading out to the hospital for a bit, hopefully I check out this time.![]()
Isn't the "I blame MS" line a bit pointless? Who else could possibly be to blame?
How old are you, 8? PS2 vs Xbox?
It just keeps getting better.
I wish NeoGAF were a stand-up comedian sometimes. Wonder what they'd look like?
This thread...man some people should start a new religion and hen they did I bet many would join them
Never before have I've seen people twist facts to suit their world order.
This is funnyCan someone edit this gif and make it relevant to the current events

"HD" started off with 720 Progressive and 1080p used to be known as Full HD. Unlike last gen, I very much doubt that any game will have a resolution below 720p on either platform. That said, given both resolutions are HD and everything in between is fair game, we may see Sony's first parties outputting titles that are below 1080p native, in the future.

"Lazy developers" remember when they were too feeble minded to harness the power of the Cell processor?Isn't the "I blame MS" line a bit pointless? Who else could possibly be to blame?
