I just walked to the shop to buy some guinness

where the fuck is this storm. it's just a bit breezy - I was expecting something along the lines of the perfect storm, houses capsizing and all

It's only a couple of hours away now, you should start getting some intense rain soon, then the wind.

Nothing will compare to a thunderstorm we had here in Bournemouth in December last year.

I normally sleep through them and everything, but this was so loud it woke me, and so loud that I actually ran to the window and loaded up BBC news on my phone to check we weren't at war and under attack. It sounded like a massive explosion.

Turns out it hit a school and a hotel.

Hell of a storm, that.

Windstorms are a different kind of beast, so you probably won't be getting any thunder.

Another member of DorsetGAF checking in. Lots of rain but much wind yet. But that's because the storm isn't due until around midnight.

that was my old school that got hit. unbelievable - it's burned down TWICE. poor guys

oh and that storm was nothing compared to the one two years ago, where people were KAYAKING down Bournemouth gardens. never seen so much water

Well it's a little windy and rainy here in cardiff, when is this storm supposed to hit us, this is normal autumn weather so far, and in already bored of stepping in puddles, lol.

Bad thing: I am working tomorrow.

Good thing: IF it really is bad then it won't be too busy.

I thought the same thing till I remembered people can drive straight to where I work and come in without having to be in the rain, and with it being half term, it will either be nice and quiet or much worse than it would be usually.

There was a guy skiing down a road in Bristol during the last snowstorm.

The stars have aligned...

have a BT openreach engineer coming tomorrow because my FTTC connection keeps being disrupted in strong winds, which results in multiple dropped connections, which results in my line speed being dropped...finally they'll be able to see I'm not kidding.

Do you know how difficult it is to arrange strong winds during an engineers visit.

I remember that. Good times, though that was more the fallout being impressive than the storm itself.

Right. I'm off to bed. Stay safe folks and good luck.

Light drizzle in Staffordshire and hardly any wind but need to go bed now so I'll check in again tomorrow to see if the fireworks have materialised.
