These people? Not in an insular bubble. They're in a culture and society that kinda sorta blatantly condones this through very tacit dehumanization of black people. I need people to open their eyes. Casual racism isn't being "brought back." It's here, it's been here, and it's going to outlive most of us, because casual racism isn't considered to be that bad.
I dunno, I would just like for people to understand that, while we're making progress, it's significantly slower than people would like to believe, and the micro-aggressions that we're expected to just "let go" and are all around us make the big shit - like this absolutely deplorable mockery of that child's death - possible.
This puts into words how I feel.
One thing to be a couple of racist assholes, but its another to disrespect someone's death like that.
