Hmm? No, I mean you should go with sturdy. The other ability isn't really worth it, imo.
Do you know how to acquire a high-IV Sturdy Carbink? I thought genderless Pokémon can't pass down Hidden Abilities.

Might have to compromise for Focus Sash and a shorter time on the screens.

Dang, it's ahrd to get a 4 player match going...
but i do thats why im trying to figure this out lol

Ahh, ok.

IVs are (prior to breeding) totally random values ranging from 0 to 31 in each of the stats.
The higher the value (through 31), the higher your Pokemon's final stats will be, which when combined with your Nature and your EVs, can lead to much higher final values.
Like when you check out Serebii's stats (Max, Min, Beneficial, and so on), you'll see how drastic the changes can be.

As I said, you initially have no control over your IVs, but when breeding, it's much easier to spread good IVs down with items like Destiny Knot and Power items.

"Overpowered" is very much in the eye of the beholder. Part of the fun is figuring out how to beat things traditionally considered OP through good team composition.

I've always had fun using Crobat and Clefable vs everyone since G/S the fact they got buffed nicely this gen made me super happy

You need to wait until December 27th, when the Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Transporter are released. At least there's no silly minigame this time.

That's fine. That's actually cool people can't transfer from the get go. It sounds like a flaw but I don't know, everyone having only the Pokemon everyone else does feels nice.

Can you transfer from Diamond and Pearl as well?

Need to move stuff into B/W/B2/W2 first.

Going to be fun getting stuff from Sapphire. :D

I would love to train an Avalugg (And probably will sometime), but it's typing and Sp.D really hurt. Game Freak just needs to give Ice another few resists.

My favorite thing right now is running builds that people don't expect. Things like RestTalk Gyrados. It's well established, and anyone who's played for a while will know to watch out for it, but the average player expects all out offense when they see a Gyrados. When he starts shrugging off all their attacks and healing what damage they can put on him, people tend to get super annoyed.

With Fairy taking over what little niche ice had as counter dragon and weather nerd hurting what Hail teams could do, Ice could have really used some new stuff to give it a new play style.

Sooner or later I'm going to have to embrace megaevolutions, first time seeing megamawile, glorious ;__;

In practice it would probably wouldn't try to set up both screens, the way I'd use it; I'd set up the screen that protects the weak point of whichever sweeper is waiting in the wings. So there's no risk of eroding one screen while setting up another. Still, three less turns is three less turns. I'm just saying Focus Sash is an option if OHKO enemy leads were to be an issue against a non-Sturdy Carbink. Thing is, I don't think you can pass on Hidden Abilities when breeding genderless Pokémon, so getting a Sturdy Carbink with the right IVs would be a crap shoot, to say the least.

Could you use the Ability Capsule from the Maison to get your sturdy?

How the heck do I increase my Eevee's happiness so I can get an Umbreon? It keeps levelling up but no evolution.

It's holding a Soothe Bell. Has been for several levels.

Anyone? I'm seriously stuck here. I found this Eevee at level 20 and it's now level 31 still no Umbreon :l

I managed to get a japanese Ditta via wonder trade and thought I could use it for the Masuda method. But when I took it to the judge it turned to have not a single perfect IV. I thought that all Safari pokemon got at least two perfect IVs? Unless Ditto can be found elsewhere.

Take it to the juice shop and the message center.

You find them in Pokemon Village.

It's found in the Pokémon VIllage.

Put it in the first slot position and don't let it die. It also increases happiness via movement. Put a coin under the 3ds circle pad and go to the center of the luminose. Make that go in a circle for about 5-10 min without hitting anyone and you should be at full happiness.

I don't think Ability Capsule works for Hidden Abilities.

I watched Busakiu's battle videos using what was presumably a Clear Body Carbink, and I really think this works splendidly in 99 percent of scenarios. You just switch out to a bulky who can tank Steel-type moves if you anticipate an incoming Meteor Mash or Flash Cannon. The real threat is Taunt.

Question about Taunt: If I'm hit with Taunt and my only attack is Explosion, does my status move fail and Explosion is triggered that very turn? Or would Explosion only be struggled if I tried to battle with that Pokémon the next turn? Because if it's the latter, I could switch out if taunted and save Carbink's screen-setting for later.

You're right within range. It takes a while. If you want to increase it faster, Vitamins increase it quickly and there's a massage lady that can give you an increase once a day. Forgot where she is.

I think it will just say that "Carbink can't use blah due to the Taunt!" and then next turn u either have to switch or use Explosion.

Yeah, it's the latter.

Ditto can be found in the Pokemon Village so yeah

Edit: Damnit beaten

Anyway I got a Shiny Octillery. My first Shiny ever, but unfortunately I don't really like Octillery. I'll keep it around for now, but eh.

Status move fails and you do nothing.

Guy starts taking forever to take his turn when I start beating him. These facts totally aren't link. Jeez. Randoms can sometimes be the worst.

And is explosion calculated based off of attack damage?

In that case, Carbink's attack isn't exactly that good. It may not do much.

On the other hand, 250 power....

OK, very good. Then switching to a bulky 'mon to tank the move and kill the taunt user would take priority, and Carbink would sit with the sweeper in the wings until he can come out at the start of a turn, tank a hit himself and set up a screen. If I play him against the right Pokémon (basically anything except Flash Cannon/Meteor Mash powerhouses), he can survive on Clear Body without Focus Sash. I'm basically being practical here by acknowledging the chances of finding a Sturdy Carbink with the right IVs are nil since you can't breed him with that ability due to hidden abilities not passing down from genderless Pokémon. So I'm basically treating him as "Clear Body" only and looking at how to make the most of such a specimen with perfect IVs, which I have now thanks to the incredible generosity of Busaiku. :)

I'm not concerned about Explosion's power, or if it even hits at all. Carbink is a suicide lead, and Explosion will hit for -some- damage in all cases but Ghost, and in any case it will allow the sweeper to come in at the start of a turn rather than switching in mid-turn and taking damage. This also maximizes the numbers of turns he/she has to take advantage of Reflect/Light Screen.

EDIT: After watching Busaiku's Carbink videos, I do like how he got extended mileage out of the little guy by trying to preserve him. Maybe Moonblast would be better. Hmm...

Man, finally done with that battle. Dude just kept deliberately stalling for time. His team got swept by my Special Wall (Not Calm Mind) Sylveon. Poor typing composition all around.

Need some help with the style in Lumiose City. I looked at FAQs but they all just suggest what I already did anyway.

I did:
Style that Furfrou multiple times
Styled my hair multiple times
Bought something in every shop that sells stuff
Beat all restaurants (including the sushi high roller)
Finished Lookers Quests
Fought in the Battle Station
Rode Taxi
Played Lottery
Took Train to Kiloude City
Worked for the hotel (all jobs)
Spoke to Alexa to lead me somewhere

Is there anything I am missing here or that I could do repeatedly? I still only have that stone guy down to 70k and apparently it gets down to 10k.,,

Colorful Drinks or whatever from the berry juice shop in lumiose gives tons of happiness. You can make one a day.

Thanks a lot all. I was getting really annoyed at how long it was taking, but it's finally evolved now :)

Go to the Pokeball store in Lumiose and buy premier or pokeballs one at a time.
