Alright, I'm deciding to convert my Pokemon to Luxury Balls. The only one I won't be able to do easily is my Anticipation Eevee, so does anyone happen to have a female one in a Luxury Ball? I'll only need to borrow it until I get some perfect IVs.

Alternatively, if you have any Eevee safari, could I add you?

Made it to the 21st battle on Super Singles in the Battle Maison. A condescending senior woman defeated me. Curses! I was using Klefki, Mega Mawile and Goodra. It's amazing how much Klefki took down all by itself. In the end, she dealt the finishing blow with Infernape. Ah well -- made more than enough BP to buy an Assault Vest for Goodra!

These last 3 battles I had were proof of Flareon's greatness, so I saved them to share with all.
Overt brag post.

LHBG-WWWW-WWW2-4WP6 - vs DaBoss
24KW-WWWW-WWW2-4WPG - vs Beats
XVPW-WWWW-WWW2-4WPZ - vs Twilt

Flareon the God.
Hey, I hope you don't mind. I uploaded one (unlisted) as my friend w/o Versus Recorder wanted to see.

Unfortunately I forgot to turn animations on before recording!

Does never seeing a friend online in the game affect shiny encounter rates on Friend Safari? Just wondering because all the shinies I've encountered have been in safaris where I've unlocked the third pokemon.

"You are challenged by professor Sycamore!"

Yes.

Defeated pose is him chillin in a couch with his lab coat slowly falling off his back the longer you take to scroll the text.

Man Spinda looks wasted.

Spinda is seriously my favorite encounter because of those animations.

"Errbody in this bitch gettin' tipsy!"

Dat Goodra bulk.... Goddamn.
My Modest Goodra has perfect IVs in Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense and Speed, and full EV investment in Defense and Sp. Attack. And yet... it still seems a tad frail. I don't think it's because of the non-perfect HP IVs.

Also, even with the full EV investment in Sp. Attack, and the perfect Sp. Attack IVs, it doesn't seem to one-shot many things. I guess Goodra is more about playing your cards against special attackers and the right types, sponging up hits with the huge Sp. Defense (EV-less in my case, but still perfect IVs and now Assault Vest), beating down your enemy over a couple turns?

I also wish there was a powerful Dragon move that didn't lower Sp. Attack like Draco Meteor. Dragon Pulse was nice -- weaker, but more accurate, with no unpleasant side effects -- but I guess Draco Meteor is recommended over it for power alone?

Hey, so you know how I restarted my Gible breeding with Luxury Balls? Well I just got a Shiny one! 31/?/31/31/?/31 though, so I probably won't be using it.

Non-Masuda method though!

Dat Goodra bulk.... Goddamn.

Goodra being a pure dragon type was a big disappointment to me. Given his reliance on rain to evolve and water moves, a Water/Dragon would have been interesting. That bulk makes him a really interesting threat, though.

My unilateral ban on dragons in my party right now means I won't be training one for a while, but he's definitely one of the interesting monsters of this generation.

Oh goodness the high-affection comments and gestures in-battle.... goomy/sliggoo officially at bro-for-life tier with Blastoise, Swampert, Chandelure, Scrafty, etc.

Had the poor decision-making to have him out in the final Lysandre battle. Gyrados happened. Then Mega-Gyarados happened. Then outrage happened. Then I was introduced to the "Sturdy" bonus of high mon-amie hearts and the ensuing heartbreaking messages. The now-nonlethal thunderbolt hit and I swapped in Xerneas because Gyrados had it coming and there ain't no kill like overkill. The little over-the-shoulder glances and encouraging comments are a regular thing now and make me giggle every time they happen.

Water Dragon was what I expected as well and would have given neutrality to Ice.

It would have been a lot easier to run a Goodra on a Rain team if it happened.

It's so frail physically that I imagine a swap-out will be advisable soon enough, which will wipe the sp atk drop.

The worst thing is when they look back at you when they get to red health and it says they're about to cry.
I get so sad every time.

Yeah, Goodra's (comparative) physical frailty, even with perfect IVs and full EVs in Defense, is part of my incentive to get a dual-screener on the team. Works nicely for other 'mons who are a "glass cannon" in some respects.

If you ever wanna do a 5 vs 5, I'm game, cause I'll only have 5 Pokemon for the rest of the year.
soon we can, I'm working on a couple Pokemon right now. I need to come up with a way to deal with your Mawile.

For Modest you probably should have went Sp. Atk and Hp and then the last 4 into sp def.

Defense, sp. Atk is better for bold nature.

I think the access to STAB on Water moves would be more interesting than the other bits. Fairy has consumed Ice's role so much that Ice's threat level is way down. You will still see it on some pokemon for coverage, so a neutrality would be nice, but not as huge a concern as it was. As for rain teams, running teams completely based on Weather seems kind of crazy to me after the weather nerf. Is it still viable? Certainly, but Rain teams now have bigger roles to fill to the point I'm not sure Goodra would have a place on most of them.

He's Lv. 53, so I could redo the EVs, if necessary. That would still work at this point, right?

Also, is it really advisable to not invest in Defense? It's but a pale shadow of his Sp. Defense...

If Goodra was Water/Dragon it wouldn't take 10 damage from a Thunder from a Mega Manectric leading to your opponent forfeiting.

Getting an early rage quit out of your opponent can be super hilarious. Did that earlier when I destroyed a dude's opening Charizard Y with my RestTalk Gyrados.

His defense is already so weak that I don't think investing 252 def evs is gonna help unless you go bold nature. It would be better to invest in hp to improve its overall bulk.

And yea, just get a rest bag and you can start over... They're kind of hard or get though.

I still only have a sliggoo for my story-playthrough team. I super-trained it in HP and sp atk. Think I'd be better off with defense instead of hp? or sp def to build on his strengths? I'm never sure whether to try to build on strengths or throw bandaids at weaknesses. HP was my stat of choice to try to split the difference.

Shellsmash barbaracle is a pain

real easy to counter tho and prevent

my whole team is it's full stop physical offense all the time and I'm lucky when it sticks and when I can boost without being obliterated

that match might have been very different if it hadn't started talonflame v barbaracle when I knew that shit was safe

Barbaracle is a real monster though, nice balanced stats even if it's kind of a one trick pony

After a weekend of doing breeding, I finally got a Togepi with the IVs of 31/x/31/x/31/31. I said screw it and would work around whatever the Sp. Atk was since the IV judge said it was "outstanding". Turns out, it was a 30. Close enough.

If i started with gogoat or put scizor it wouldve been closer :(

if you'd started off gogoat i would have lost i think

I had Klefki and Gallade as well, gallade is the shittiest glass cannon I've ever trained and Klefki is awesome but I just threw a bunch of walls and status inflicters on him bc prankster

Aw man Goodra doesn't gain water as a type? I grew that little dragon blob just for that! The single dragon typing was way too suspicious. But people are sayin it's good nonetheless, eh? What is "special bulk," I keep seeing that, what the hell is "bulk" in the context of Pokemon?

Training this Shelgon and Tyrantum, my team's becoming WAY too dragon-heavy.
