Yeah, replace that with Rapid spin. Rain dance ruins Volcarona's STAB and Rapid spin is needed to clear entry hazards so Volcy can get onto the field safely.

will do. i was gonna try some sort of blastoise rain dance toxicroak thing since i don't wanna raise a politoed lol

Why not Leftovers?

I've been letting Volcarona hold that. It + Roost has been often effective in keeping him alive to sweep. It was so ingrained into my mind that I wasn't even considering giving Leftovers to Azumarril. It's certainly worth some testing.

Choice band, splash plate, mystic water.

Choice Band is no good if I want to use Belly Drum + Aqua Jet. But it is why I'm considering Splash Plate. It could give Aqua Jet enough power to OHKO even more Pokemon.

Does someone want to be a doll and let me hold onto their Articuno for a second to complete my Pokedex? I have a Moltres amongst other things if you need to fill your dex.

I just would catch > Look at thats during next battle > soft reset > repeat. What nature do you want?

Modest or Timid. I've tried to check the nature while in combat, but apparently you can't access now the full data while fighting. I've been trying to make do with MetalKid's calculator and guessing the nature by "impossible" and abnormally low stats... Any suggestions?

Klefki's typing is excellent (2X weak to ONLY Ground and Fire, and with two immunities and multiple resistances). His defenses are strong. But his secret sauce is Prankster, which gives +1 priority on all status moves.

This allows Klefki to do the following:

- Always go first paralyzing with Thunder Wave and/or confusing with Swagger
- Then go first setting up a Substitute next turn
- Then go first using Swagger if I haven't already, or paralyze with Thunder Wave if enemy switches to shake confusion
- Then use Foul Play, which is stronger the greater the enemy's Attack; with an anti-Attack nature on Klefki, and the enemy's Attack raised two stages by Swagger, you can hit them HARD.

When the sub breaks -- if they're able to hit you instead of hitting themselves or being immobilized by paralysis -- then you repeat the process.

Only Taunt can stop it. In which case Klefki can switch out for a bulky wall to kill the taunter.

Also, some people use Klefki to set up dual screens and/or Spikes. Although I think the incredibly durable Carbink (with Sturdy, and holding Light Clay) is the premiere Dual Screener (and Stealth Rocker!).

Personally, I'm interested to use both -- Klefki, and then Carbink.

Fuck. A pokemon I hate the aesthetics of I'll end up having to use. :\

Yeah, i'd go with Splash Plate or Mystic Water then.

Klefkis are so annoying. You can risk switching into a decent ground type and your EQ goes off or they can debate giving you a +2 boost. It's steel so you can't Toxic it either.

Is it me or is BW faster than XY in terms of battling speed. I prefer XY, but still.
BW had the simultaneous thing going on where damage happened alongside text, or two Pokemon got chip damage together. I was a bit disappointed when I saw they didn't do it again for XY.

Simultaneous chip damage should really go without saying

Are Special Stones through Super Secret only one per forever? I'm trying to farm, but seems I get Hard Stones for my troubles.

No, you can get as many as you want. I think you might need to beat a certain time; I certainly only got the Dusk Stone when I had 2:25 or better remaining.

Anyone else find it hard to train Pokemon after the story is over?

Right now I'm basically just trying to collect and breed the best Pokemon I can and find shiny Pokemon until the bank is up and I can start over with my faves. :/

Klefki outspeeds regular Scizor and Speed ties with the Mega version. Ain't no sane person that's gonna let Scizor get paralyzed.
Yep, and again, Klefki resists Steel because he is part Steel himself, reducing it to only neutral damage. And he has no trouble setting up with Prankster Substitute, and if nothing else paralyzes 16 out of 18 types, with priority, and confuses all with Swagger, which in turn powers up his Foul Play. He frustrates many teams into switching, which only makes their situation worse. Most annoying Pokémon EVER. Glad things worked out for the lil' guy because I instantly fell in love with his design. He's the No. 1 reason to have Taunt if he becomes common. :)

Eh, whatever at klefki. Poison heal gliscor means that he can't toxic me, can't paralyze me, and the worst thing he can do is confuse me or eat an earthquake. :p

Now that I think about it, Galv lead ain't so bad against Klefki cause his attack is garbage and Thunder should be able to 2-shot him.

Foul Play is Dark too.

We're going to get an Ice / Ground with Arena Trap, pitiful attack, Taunt, Earth Power, and an exclusive hold item that makes it immune to confusion if the opponent outspeeds it in XYXX.

Alternatively, Heatran.

As long as your Gliscor has very poor Attack, he will be safe from Klefki's Foul Play. Well, safer, anyways -- Klefki can still inflate anyone's Attack with Swagger, powering up his Foul Play while inflicting confusion.

Klefki could go first and sub and then Swagger. I guess Galv would eventually break all the subs if Thunder hits each time (he has an ability for that, doesn't he?). Klefki could then suicide Swagger. Personally, I'd switch before then.

What should I EV train him in? Love his design and want to use him as a starter

Hey guys, I have a question. What's everyone's thoughts on Trevanant competitively? I'm looking for a Grass to complete a FWG core with Blaziken and Greninja and a spinblocker with a gimmick as fun sounding as smogon's proposed moveset with a Lum Berry sounds right up my alley:

Trevenant @ Lum Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SDef / 120 Spd
Careful Nature
- Wood Hammer / Horn Leech
- Shadow Claw
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

I'm gonna be depressed if I put the work in and still can't do much though.

yes you're right
since nobody answered the last two times: is anyone doing rated battles here?

I tried a few but I was EXTREMELY bad at them. :(

Also, Talonflames as far as the eye could see. It's like Kalos's specialty is fighting with their KFC.

So after you find a stone, the stone guy gets in in stock? Or does he randomly circulate what he's selling?

Nope, I meant you have to get another copy of the game. You can only get any particular Mega Stone once which is pretty dumb since you can get an unlimited number of any one Pokemon.

The most you can hope for is that someone else doesn't want theirs and is willing to trade you for it.

Dear Game Freak, a million thanks for GTS. I just got a female evee for a smeagle.

It may not luck like much, but god... it is so dificult to get a femalee evee by breeding with ditto or trying to catch it.

Revisiting Elite 4, you-know-who says this to me

Oh, I can't tell you how happy I am to meet you again...

I feel like my heart might just burst into flames.

I'm burning up with my hatred for you, runt!

Alright. I'll keep that in mind if I ever lose one.

It's probably your fault anyways.
