Anyone else enjoy rotation battles more than the normal single battles? Maybe its just me, but it feels like it gives more opportunity for strategy and a need to adapt on the fly, which is always fun when you play games for a tactical thrill.

Does anyone have a Ralts or Abra with Timid or Modest and Sync that they could part with? My FC is 0576-4860-2653 if anyone does.

Edit: I just went to Route 4, found a Ralts in five minutes, and it was Modest with Synchronize. :3

That sounds really interesting. Can you explain how they work together well?

Well Vaporeon take son any fire types that run after Trevenant and Trevnant can leech seed threats to Vaporeon while tanking hitds fairly well. Rotom is there as another pivot that can deal damage and cripple physical threats with Will o Wisp.

Recently I decided to try and make a team to use in online battles. I'm not really sure why either. I've played every gen except 3 and have only battled another player 1 time and that was back in the first gen. :p

I started breeding yesterday and I'm surprised at how quick it's been. I've already gotten 2 Pokemon that I wanted. One is an adamant Staraptor with max Ivs in everything except sp. attack. The other is a modest Gardevoir with max ivs in everything but attack.

I'm still not sure about where to put the Evs though. I'm thinking I for Staraptor I should put 252 in attack and 252 in speed and 4 in hp. Gardevoir should get 252 in sp. attack and 252 in speed. 4 in hp. Does this sound good?

Got my second Lv100!

Terrible stats and movesets though. If I reset EVs via the reset bag, what will happen?

EVs go to Zelch. Zed. Zero.
His stats would then be recalculated after every battle.

It also, handily enough, indirectly tells you what your EVs were by saying how much it subtracts. If you keep one handy, you can save, use it, then reset to double-check EVs.

Woah... I never thought of that. That's a good way of checking how your EVs are going if you aren't 252'ing all of them.

Damn Busaiku's Pikachu and its Nuzzle. Will consider Lum (maybe Roseli) on Goodra. GGs, Goodra's a tank, Metal can't aim, and I hate Mega Mawhile. Will keep that jerk in mind when finishing "real" team.

Gotta EV train and evolve 6 flawless Woobat first, though!

So can you get it back with Super Training again? Sorry if this is a dumb question ><

Grinding for BP is so boring and long winded :/

Finally gonna start using hordes to EV train after this. I never wanna see another Pokemon balloon in my life.

I just want a little more variety. It's a really good proof-of-concept but I want them to flesh it out more and not make the fights seem obviously rushed-in.

The looker sidequests were the same way. Hell,
the secret floor was the exact same as floor 1 and they didn't even bother to edit the doors: they just put an unpassable object in front of them.

As a person who never played competitively, being almost defeated by a preschooler (where'd you get your Pokemon from!? I thought you're not supposed to get a Pokemon until you're 10) in Maison Super Singles slapped me. Time to build an actual team.

For technician and Pursuit.... When a pokemon is switching, will it be 40 increased to 60 then doubled? Or just doubled, then not affected by technician?

Even with Burn Mawhile does a hella lot of dmg with SD under it.

Even Garchomp EQ can't seem to OHKO guaranteed.

Cool. Guess I'll try it in the Maison once I breed for one.

Swords Dance/Play Rough/Sucker Punch/???
I'd put Ice Punch in there but that's BW2 so..... I guess Iron Head :/

I think you can teach it Ice Fang. 10 less BP. At least, that's what I'm trying to do.

Are Steel moves useful? I was planning on using Swords Dance/Play Rough/Sucker Punch/Thunder Fang or Fire Fang (my type coverage on my team is awful so I'm having a hard time picking lol).

Hi PokemonGAF, My brother and I just got 2 3DSXL with Pokemon X&Y, we decided to wait on the ps4 till more games are out and it is more stablished, I got a few questions:

1)How does the Super training system works? If I raise 4 EVs do the base stat raises inmeadiatly or is it progressive, and if so, does the level at which I start to ev train matters in the final outcome?

2)Does exp.share take exp away from the main pokemon?

3)Is Riolu a good starter? What starters do you recommend?

4)Anything important / Tips I should know before starting?

Thanks in advance :)

Doing a little team adjustment:

Galvantula @ ???
Timid - 252 SpA and Speed - Compound Eyes

Thunder
Bug Buzz
Energy Ball
Sticky Web

Blaziken @ Blazikenite
Adamant - 252 ATK & Speed - Speed Boost

Protect
Flare Blitz
Swords Dance
High Jump Kick

Greninja @ Life Orb
Hasty/Timid - 252 SpA & Speed - Protean

Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Grass Knot/Dark Pulse/Hidden Power Fire
U-Turn

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Relaxed - 252 HP/48 Def/208 Sp.D - Iron Barbs

Toxic/Thunder Wave
Iron Head
Power Whip
Stealth Rock

So far I have this in mind, but I don't know how well they all mesh together. I'm also wondering about what I should look into for Mons 5 & 6. I've begun to think that my team's a bit squishy and I was recommended a Tyranitar (and thought as much too) in order to resist being Talonderp'd out and for potential troubles for Mega Blaziken (the star of my team) in a post Pokebank world in the form of Jellicent. Usually I round out my teams with a cool dragon and a psychic type, but I'm all ears for good suggestions. Previously, I rolled with a Calm Mind Gardevoir (Modest/Trace/252 SpA & Speed; CM/Psychic/Moonblast/Focus Blast) for switch ins on dragon types/her new typing and Trace being fun, but I feel like I should do her over. Any ideas?

I have a new found respect for Ditto in triple battles, I got one with a perfect HP IV from the safari and I only had 4 fully bred guys so I decided to toss him in there for laughs. Went into my first real battle online against a guy with 1657 rating (I had 14xx because the first 2 games I got into I had DC issues, on a side note though, glad to see DCs count as losses now). He tossed out a Mega Kangaskhan which I proceeded to imposter with my Ditto, I also had a Mega Mawile out. My Ditto ended up killing his Kangaskhan since it was faster (go go tailwind).

I feel like Mawile stole the show though, I went 252 HP/Atk and even without screens up (the guy flinch/murdered my screen user before it could do anything) he was able to survive a shadow sneak from Aegislash who had swords danced + a shadow ball from an Alakazam.

Focus Sash on Galv def if planning on leading with him. Also, you may want an anti-spinner considering you are planning on having rocks and web on the field.

omg
do I see
someone doing a RATED BATTLE?!?!?!
*gasp*

You'll have to breed for the Fangs on Mawile. I'll do this for my Mawile. Having as much coverage as possible is ideal in the Maison.

Dunno but it must suck getting hit with a +2 STAB Huge Power Iron Head.

Awesome. I have a pretty good Timid Gengar in the PC I could ring up for anti-spin measures. Should I or is he too squishy too? I'd go straight to Aegislash if I weren't so afraid of having two Pokemon already that share a Fire weakness.
