This game is getting fucking destroyed.
If you want QTE done right, look to games like Beyond: Two Souls. Trying to make QTE events the sole interaction in an action game is not good game design.

Have you even bothered to look at any of the gameplay?
Always, as in after DRM 180 now that they're not restricting you to select retailers. MS is publishing this tripe..you could always trade it in. and whats with these cheap shots, its not like he made the game.

Mad World and Vanquish are also insultingly bad. Only Bayonetta is a good game. From my PAX experience, speaking as a fan of Platinum-style character action games, it was insultingly bad.
Because of one wrecking preview?

Yes. At least color palette got changed to a horrible one and the controls were more like in Crysis 2. VTOL level was axed.Did they change anything when they ported Crysis 1 into CryEngiene 3 and released it on PS3/X360?

The game has never looked anything but terrible.
This never even peaked my interest, and now it's really one to stay away from.
Jesus! That's really damning.
I mean, I hated the multiplayer demo, but...
I guess I see why everything was embargoed so hard?
Sessler will show his true colors by his review.
"I can imagine, 200 years from now, like our reading of Dickens, the game will be regarded as a catalog of our contemporary travails, an accelerated reality bearing more truth than just gazing at our own reflection."
Pay attention, there's far more than just GI calling it crap. If anything horrible outlets (with questionable integrity) like IGN saying it's great are the minority here.
I'm not expecting this to be deep or innovating by any means so I'll like it for what it is. A console launch, hack and slash, eye candy type of game.

By wrecking I meant wrecking, calling it outright "sucks".
I think he showed his "colors" with:
Well I'm counting 4 positive to 3 not positive so far.
I would not say the Venturebeat one is all that positive.Well I'm counting 4 positive to 3 not positive so far.
Should be renamed to DYAL.
Shacknews - Ryse: Son of Rome preview: pretty, boring
http://www.shacknews.com/article/81910/ryse-son-of-rome-preview-pretty-boring
Clearly, if there's one reason to play Ryse, it's not the gameplay. Son of Rome, at the very least, is a spectacle filled with tons of CryEngine-powered eye candy. In fact, it's so pretty that the frequent interruption of pre-rendered cutscenes is baffling. For some reason, the video compression on the cinema sequences is incredibly noticeable, making the pre-rendered stuff look worse than the real-time graphics. The story is also by-the-numbers: a tale of revenge that telegraphs nearly every aspect of the story. You won't be surprised by how Marius ends up being so damn angry--but at least there's some solid performances backing the cinematics.
What worse criticism can you give a game than calling it boring, which several outlets in this thread have?
But Jeff Cannata said it was the most next gen of all games...
