Well, do you actually have enough media to justify needing 128? Or even 64? If so, then your purchase is validated.... and expensive. Oh boy. I wish 32 would become the standard by the time the 3rd generation comes along. We've been at 16 for so long.

If they are really supply constrained then they will be putting more 16 and 32 chips in the models they do have ready to go because they will sell. They wouldn't want to have any 128GB sitting on the shelves at this point.

Where did you get it? Two week returns at Apple Stores.
I doubt it, they have the ipad air for 500$ and the mini for 300$.
Don't think people will be able to make much, even if supply constrained.
You out of 14 day return policy?
This was the model to get though. I'm betting pretty high markup. Time will tell.

Actually for iPad Air it's Jan 7th in US for return policy. Holiday returns according to my buddy. Wish I had known that, would have help onto my Air until the Mini came out. Returned it once I decided I wanted the mini, but would have held off if I knew about the longer return policy.

I just bought three 16GB's. This fucked up launch along with the news of supply constraints from the man himself indicates to me that I should take the precautions necessary for the holidays. My mom and sister wanted a Mini for Christmas and I'm still debating between one and an iPad Air...but I'll hold onto the third one just incase. I doubt these will be in stock during the holidays and my holiday return period makes it a no brainer decision.
Oh, and it's no coincidence that the iPad Mini with Retina display hasn't been seen in any of the Black Friday ad scans/deals...only the Airs/Regular minis or iPad 2's.

It was well known more than 3 weeks before that the new ones were coming in October/November though.

I'm thinking it's only going to be available online at first. It explains why we didn't hear of anybody purchasing them on the other side of the world when it was already the 12th there. Also, all Apple online stores went down simultaneously, rather than staggered as they do in other launches.
Store pickup option says none available for the stores in my area (NYC). The option is still there though, so it's safe to say that stores actually don't have them yet. For items that lack a store pickup option, it doesn't even show up.

Me too, and I'm also surprised by the lack of posts in this thread. I'm assuming most people don't know it's on sale yet.
Do it now. Holiday returns are in effect so you don't have anything to lose. You'll regret it later when they aren't available anywhere come December.
That's why I jumped on it quick.
It's only a matter of time before it says "Shipping in 2-3 months".

Me too. Right now I'm crossing my fingers and hoping there's not some production flaw that pops up since they're under pressure to get them out the door in a hurry. Hopefully Apple stores will have enough emergency replacement stock available just in case.

I'm not buying (getting my Air today) but I'm interested in hearing what differences exist between this and the Mini outside of screen size and PPI. It seems like the Mini 2 and the Air are pretty even outside of the extra couple of inches and it's hard to see how that alone is worth the extra $100 dollars (even though I am getting an Air).

I heard somewhere that the first batch are having some issues with the screen (burn in or panels with worse quality). Apparently Apple went to samsung for the screens since sharp couldn't deliver the expected amount.
Does this mean I should wait till xmas or should I just dip in right now? I'm debating getting one since this morning but haven't gotten myself to hit the "checkout" button at the end...
Also, is it really possible to have a supply shortage? I'm from europe and although I'm somewhat reticent in getting it now, I'm most certainly getting it sometime in the next month. I just want to see what people say about it firsthand before pulling the trigger.
