anybody else thinking of canceling PS4 pre-order after reading the reviews?

Canceled my pre-order today.

Was already thinking about it, but now I rather buy a new Geforce card and a bigger SSD for my computer.

I like how people think that without early adopters, good games will come.

Why would a dev invest in a game that only has a low install base?

We need these early adopters for any console to flourish.

Absolutely not! Considering that I have not touched the PS3 outside of playing Last of Us .. I need next gen hardware.

Kiiiiiii

So there ARE people out there that take reviews to heart because a game doesn't have a perfect score.

It got 8's that's not a bad score.

WiiU?

Bye

I will most likely be getting one before e price drops anyway, so why not get it now with a free 30 days of plus and a free $10 in sen store credit and the ability to get all free plus games that are out starting now

I'm seriously think to cancel and wait for better games and possible price drop no real must play games not even pretty good games at the moment. Maybe I should get an wii u instead ...

Do you really trust anything those gaming "journalists" write online these days?
Wow.

Launch titles are usually shitty. There are no surprises here.

If your purchase was dependent on review scores for just two games (KZ and Knack), then I'm not sure you were sold on a PS4 in the first place.

I think there's still enough to get through the launch window, honestly. Killzone and Resogun were well reviewed (and by all accounts, they're gorgeous), the third party next-gen games this year seem to be fairly good and the second wave of titles isn't too far away. But it's a launch; usually launch wave games aren't remembered as classics as a generation grinds on. You should think of them as a signpost to the future instead. People who aren't prepared to deal with that stuff shouldn't be participating in any hardware launch, honestly.

Reviews mean absolutely nothing to me, so no. And if they did, most of these sites have destroyed any credibility they had over the last couple months.

They're not even that bad though. Knack has always looked average and Killzone seems to have turned out above-average but not great. Still looking forward to playing both.

I don't think the price will drop until at least 2015, but it's true that there are not so many games available for the system yet, especially as far as exclusives go.

Nah. Was not looking forward to Killzone and Knack to begin with. NBA 2k14 and CoD:Ghosts is enough for me.

Are the framerate issues on Ghosts really that bad? Is there any video of it?

It was clear that Knack wouldn't get good reviews...
And what other Games do you mean?

KZ has only 2 bad reviews and one of that is from Polygon - lol.
The others get good reviews too.

Kotaku's KZ-Review is the only one which i'm surprised about, but that wouldn't make me cancel the console...

I've said it many times, and I'll say it again; consoles are a long term investment. Their value is not in launch games, but in everything that comes after devs have had time to work with the system and produce games that weren't slaved to uncertain hardware specs and intense time constraints.

So many people seem to be ordering a $400 machine on a total whim, based on how often people seem to be cancelling their pre-orders based on the tiniest things.

Are you reading the reviews? The multiplayer for Killzone sounds great.

Unless you were really hyped for Knack, I don't see what could have changed. I'm also looking forward to Need For Speed.

Buying a console at launch is always like this. If you got a pre-order and you're excited, you might as well keep it because it's not going to be cheaper in 6 months and you will get some enjoyment out of it during that time. Not to mention all the non-exclusive games you can play.

The rational part of my brain knows I have very few reasons to buy a PS4 right now. On the XB1 side I am very excited about Forza at launch, and I absolutely have to play Titanfall the day it comes out. And I know I can play all the multiplatform games at launch on the XB1, even if they're not quite as pretty as they would be on PS4.

So yeah, I should just sell my PS4 this weekend and make a nice profit. The only thing I feel like I'd really be missing out on in the first 6-9 months would be Resogun, and Infamous early next year.

Whether the rational part of my brain wins out is the question. ;)

I had two of both consoles preordered and was weighing my options between the two, but unless the scores for the XB1 knock my pants off I'll probably just end up waiting until next year to make my next generation purchases.

because you had such high expectations of knack or what ? You a bit emotional, bro ?

All these reviews underlined is that it's best to wait for a big title for a new system, as always. I'm waiting for Destiny, personally.

Already canceled on Amazon and I'm just about to head to the UPS store to return Killzone and Battlefield.

XBONE here I comeeeeeeeee

i'm definitely getting the sense that the launch line-up will be serviceable but not great. there is no killer app- no soul calibur, no ssx, no mario 64- nothing that makes your jaw drop like karina hart's tits. I won't be getting a ps4 till next year at the earliest and frankly, i'm not as bummed out about it as I was a few weeks ago. the library will only get better, and that's when i'll swoop in.

1. Was I buying the console at launch based on the launch games rather than the new console smell? Nope.
2. Did I expect 10/10 Launch Games? Nope.
3. Do I expect a price drop within a year from now? Nope.

So nope, pre-order remains intact.
This.
