Past two episodes make the prior six look like something from an entirely different show.
Also the May/Ward stuff I kind of felt was being hinted at for the last few episodes. They've been eyefucking each other like crazy. I predict by the end of this first season Ward/May will be a pairing, one of the science duo will be dead, and Skye will be banging the survivor.
I also loved that Dollhouse reference at the end.

That's actually a pretty good way of explaining the change.
Still got goofy/silly stuff. Being tied to the Marvel cinematic universe, but everything seems to be darker in tone.

Don't you mean past three? The character focused episodes have been much darker and focused on the events than the last ones. Finally hit its stride.

Things are getting better. It looks like we'll be going to some dark places.
Ward and May makes a strange sort of sense. They're both company pros, dealing with trauma/issues. A little commiseration and comfort, and no drama afterwards.
