I don't understand what people are trying to say in here. I'm in a party now with 4 other people. We're all playing different games.
Sooo...
No one in this thread actually has an XB1 and is posting with 1st hand knowledge?

Thanks. So at least we know that this is not an issue for everyone. Maybe related to specific connection setups.I don't understand what people are trying to say in here. I'm in a party now with 4 other people. We're all playing different games.

He wasn't clear, I assume it's party chat? Not sure if there's a difference, I assume there is. Can you party chat on Skype?

Which games are you all playing?
I could just be confused, but I thought that the Xbox One's party chat WAS Skype, which is why problems were rumored? Again, I could be off my rocker here.

Did you have to activate party chat first or did it work out of the box? As some people are having issues, it could be that it needs to be turned out as Colonel Nasty mentioned.
I'm playing Forza and my buddies are playing Ryse, Madden, FIFA and Ghosts.

You have to "Turn on party chat" when you join. It's a pain the ass. I hope they patch it. It's also annoying that you can't see what everyone else in your party is playing, like you could on the 360 view. I hope they add that back in also.
The paranoia/sky is falling mentality of this forum is nuts

no way this is true.
kinect voice not working at all, I can believe
snap being leggy, I can believe
but no cross game party chat. no freaking way. I thought this was MS strength.

The issues will be on a game by game basis. Read post #6.... miles pulled the relevant quote from what I wrote about this a month ago. On the 360 it was a system wide feature, on the xbox one it's not. So it requires many different apps/games to talk to each other. For some games it's working fine, for some it's not.
Not coincidentally this is why party chat couldn't be shoehorned into the ps3.
It will be fine eventually, and depending on the game will be fine now... but the way they setup the system was not wise.
Except, for you know, the one post saying 5 different games, and basically the popular and most of the launch games are already confirmed to be working just fine between ALL of them. ;PThe issues will be on a game by game basis. To be honest a lot of people have said snapped apps are running fairly slow. I'll check it out myself later today.Except, for you know, the one post saying 5 different games, and basically the popular and most of the launch games are already confirmed to be working just fine between ALL of them. ;P
Seems like your sources were wrong. No missing invites, no missing notifications, no connectivity issues, no broken party chat that'll take months to fix, and Snap isn't broken. ;P

As software is a moving target it's not surprise that things are working better than stated in pre release rumors. As all the reviewers have said, they got multiple software updates in the last week.To be honest, is running slowly the same as Snap crashing and/or not working at all? I think that's a far cry from some of the rumors we've heard about it being a broken mess.
This needs its own thread, What were MS thinking making it like this? Why not just keep as it was on 360?

This seems like the perfect place for that video. Just need OP to update.
Slow isn't what they described it as, more like broke and constantly crashing. To be honest a lot of people have said snapped apps are running fairly slow. I'll check it out myself later today.

That bodes well for the future of the system.
I'd love to know myself haha. I'd like to think the person that made the .gif did it themsleves lool.So is the non-jurassic park bit from a porno or a music video?
