I just can't see them releasing a game only 3-4 months after announcement, or at least with this small of a teaser. Hell, SMT IV came out about 5 days short of being a full year after its announcement.

So, now that we know more, I'd love to know the story behind Aeana's comment about how reactions here would be interesting. Because PS3, particularly when she made it, was like the safest bet?
I'm pretty sure I even saw someone call for Verendus to be banned when the game was revealed to not be a PS3 game.

ArkSys is the one that region locked it, the decision wasn't made by ATLUS.

A 3 month release extravaganza would be awesome, but any marketing staff would be "no way no how", I think.
Personally, I'm thinking we'll get word (eventually) that some crazy shit went down during the index fiasco, and some big things in the game changed. Otherwise, this is only surpassed in development by stuff like HL3.

Do you not verify what things you hear with a 2nd or 3rd person like mortimer does? If P5 is going to PS4, it will not be a simultaneous launch and any future port/Golden version is safe to say already guaranteed to other platforms due to the track record of previous Persona releases.They didn't want Japan to import the cheaper US version.

Good decision, console with the highest install base and they could always re-release it later for Vita and PS4.

I don't think you understand the nature of how rumors work. Things change, and things change often.
I was told cross-gen, the game isn't cross-gen. The same can be said for Ni No Kuni 2. The PS4 hasn't even shipped in Japan yet, the sales of the machine will determine all the support it gets going forward.
This sounds like Atlus will stagger the eventual PS4 release.
As for Dragon Quest and all other Japanese needs, you folks need to tap Verendus or Kagari on that front. I can assure you they knew far more about this little announcement than your fuzzy little parrot who can't shut up.

I'm glad they finally announced P5. But no media? Not even a freaking screenshot? Have 0 interest in the 3DS and dance game. Also I prey to god that winter date is a worldwide release date. Are we really going to wait until 2015 to play this in the west?
SMTIV pains me as well, and i'll not soon forget the Arena debacle. Still at least now I can rest easy knowing I'll be able to play this. I doubt we'll get the 3DS game, but to be honest I don't really care about it.

Hooray! I'll be jumping into the Persona series with this one. Kinda bittersweet about still having my PS3 hooked up to the end of next year, but it probably would have happened anyways due to my PS+ sub as well as my backlog. Viva la PS3!

Yeah, but as mentioned the region lock was about Japan importing the NA version. Am sorry for Europe though. No one should have to wait so long for SMT anything.

Why? There is nothing wrong with a dungeoncrawler Etrian Odyssey-style with the cast of P3 & P4. On the contrary, that game sounds awesome to me. Atlus can do whatever they want, they don't owe gamers anything. And people aren't satisfied anyway. Look at the posts in this thread, people are disappointed it isn't for PS4 already.

I have absolutely no faith in it based on earlier titles. I double dipped on P4G and Catherine to show support but those days are over.
I don't care about the chibi style, I hate that it is on 3DS because of region lock. Region lock is the devil and you never know what they are going to pull, even if it was Aksys or INdex or whoever did it earlier.
