Everything as expected, didn't think Atlus would jump into next generation development cost. PS3 is a very safe bet and the game will sell gang busters there. I am just happy all this teasing finally paid off for once.

I doubt it will be as dark as the trailer suggests, but it probably won't be as chipper as P4 if the word slave is tossed around in the teaser... Whatever it is, I am sure it will be appealing.

Neither would I. I played all the games and all of them are good though I admit I like P3 and P4 with social links and everything but P1 and P2 had their charms....their brutal, brutal charms

I doubt they're going to care enough about the west to start dubbing and translating in advance. Hell, Final Fantasy doesn't even come WW and Pokemon just started.

What I don't get is a fighting game, based on Persona 4, was released on the 360. But the long awaited sequel to the mainline series doesn't get a 360 release? Makes no sense in hindsight.

My guess is they are going to be going be utilizing the blu-ray storage capacity and 360 (xbox in general) is pretty much the Ouya (in terms of interest and popularity) in Japan....

It would be the Metal Gear Rising situation, in Japan only a PS3 version is released, in North America/Europe there would be a PS3 and Xbox 360 version.

Persona doesn't seem like the series that would max out a Blu-Ray disc.

Of course, and i don't want them to cancel the PS3 version, but they should also make a PS4 port.
I think it's safe to say that JRPG fans in the west are more core gamers than casuals, and therefore a lot of the potential buyers will have a PS4 in 1 - 2 years when it will be out in the West. You can't expect them all to keep their PS3.

I wouldn't think a core gamer would get rid of their old console. Regardless they've made the announcement far enough in advance and P4 had a similar release with no issues.

I wouldn't be opposed to them doing a cross gen release but I doubt it would justify the increased costs so I think the PS3 release is the best decision.

i get your point, but ports take resources, and Atlus runs an extremely tight ship - if they didn't do it for the huge Wii userbase, why would they now?

I mean but they are owned by Sega now. I don't believe Sega is that broke. And with the way systems now are so easy to code for, I'm not seeing why this couldn't have been an option. I feel this way about a PS4 version as well.

GC had these "heavy hitters" it did nothing. It doesn't matter if WiiU gets MK, SSB etc i needs a steady release schedule of software and with JP third parties avoiding the system like the plague thats not going to happen.

SSM is one that comes to mind. And I'm sure that's going to sell mad. I think it would have some impact. I understand I'm not feeling the Persona on the 3DS but I'm indifferent to a Wii U version. I feel like for a system that so easy to code for, there shouldn't be a financial issue. On top of that, it will be lined up along with other big games. There is no loss.

I'm not sure why people are saying this looks so much darker than P3&4. P3 has tons of suicide imagery, the first hour or two of P4 has a murdered girl tangled up on a power line pole.

Isn't it Atlus's biggest series? I mean, the anime, movies, concerts, and spinoffs aren't just funding themselves.
