Persona 5 announced for PS3, winter 2014

Hey, Persona 5. I'll take it!

I remember saying that a new Persona game would be the game to tip the scales and make me buy a PS3. Well.. ended up getting that PS3 years ago anyway, way to think ahead me :). If it ends up having DS4 support, all the better.
 
All is right with the world... except the release date >:(

I know it's probably been suggested, but has anyone tweeted the Sony suits who are soliciting suggestions for games on PS platforms about funding a PS4 port like they did with Injustice yet?

2015 is probably a bit far out for JUST a PS3 release.

There was less than 6 months between the JPN/NA releases of P4, P4G and only 2 months between SMT IV. We(I mean NA as I will be importing it from EU) will get it sooner than you think! IF ATLUS DARE PUT A REGION LOCK

Good news, but this should have been announced a year or more ago. It's like all the Japanese developers decided to come out of hibernation.

It's weird. Persona 5 has just been announced and I should be happy. But if anything old insecurities about Atlus games in the UK have awoken and I find myself too concerned with the release date and platform instead of being excited. Why am I being negative :(

The Persona team has been working on the game for years now. PS3 also has the biggest userbase for the particular market they're catering to. There's no telling how PS4 is going to perform yet.

It's not really unprecedented anyways. P4 came out on PS2 as well after the respective next-gen consoles had already hit the market.

I really can't imagine any significant story/character mixing in the crossovers at all. There's no way Q is even canon, P4A2 seems really isolated to it's own plotline, Dancing all night is.. A rise idol management game.

P1 is almost 20 years old and the series didn't really take off until P3. But just because P3 made the series popular doesn't mean they can't deviate from the book a bit. Persona's popularity has given all SMT related games a boost. Atlus won't have a mass exodus of fans if they skip a lighthearted jingle and a couple of "peeping on our female classmates in the bath ohohohoho" scenes.

That is not what I meant, I should have clarified. I am on a tablet though so that is a bit hard.... Anyway, I mean post-P5 release, they will likely have the casts interact with each other. (P3/P4/P5)
 
congratz ps3. i like how certain companies still support old systems. back then it was sega who got a major support throughout the years and nowadays its sony.

i dont know why devs let down xbox or nintendo system so early while sony systems get so much support even after launching the successor...
 
People were wishing for the game to be released on ps3, now people are bashing atlus for announcing this game for ps3.

This game won't be coming to us anytime before 2015. I would rather not have my PS3 hooked up by then, so hopefully Atlus or Sony does the right thing!
 
I wonder if they could potentially release it on both PS3 and PS4 at the same time, or port it over? With a release so far away, and developers knowing of the PS4 for a while, wouldn't that have given them enough time for developing of both? I mean, 2015 for the west is a bit late.
 
By the way. If this game does not release in Europe day and date (or at least in the same week) as the US and has a region lock I will cut someone. I sincerely hope Atlus does not pull that shit on us again.

I'm still fucking waiting for SMTIV over here...

That's why this is the best announcement ever. Since they always do portable series they'll surely make P5 Crimson. And it will be iconic and all will be well on this earth ;_;

Well if they get it running on Gakai then you'll be able to play it on your Vita someday.
 
Hopefully Gaikai is up and running by NA release so i can stream it to my ps4

If not. Well I still got my ps3!!!

Good thing i woke up late n forgot about this or i prob woulda smashed my vita after the 2 other announcements lol.
 
I'm probably not going to have my PS3 by that point (it's not like I have room for 2 consoles in the dorms) so w/e. Wanted a Wii U version.
