"Hashino stated that it was happening and that he wanted to add elements in Persona 5 that is to be expected of the series as well as change things within those limitations."
Anyone honestly thinking this will have anything to do with a prison setting is being entirely too literal-minded...
Probably a regular school, with some new threat appearing that offers an escape out of the ball-and-chain captivity of such a life. Those who indulge this threat disappear. The heroine must investigate... or something like that.
This is a very exciting idea. It's going to really, really hard to wait for this game.I'm guessing the chains represent a fate vs. free will theme.

It would be cool if its set in anreformatory school; would be a pretty interesting setting.all-girls
The wait is going to be absolutely painful for this game, but I am so damn excited that we've finally got some form of confirmation of a date.
The chairs with the ball & chains is rather interesting choice for a key image in the teaser, but I love the use of the red. Whether it's set in school or possibly a prison, I'm just excited to see that this game is actually coming out.
Okay, so I'm going to clear this up because this misconception is hurting me on the inside. Sho is a character for Persona 4 Arena 2, he has nothing to do with P5. We literally know nothing about P5 yet aside from the teaser they dropped.
Also, Persona 3 and 4 is a very, very, very far cry from 'Disney Channel XD'.

Where do you get the....erm......"bubblegum, disney channel XD" feel from?
Persona 5 in...November? (won't make TGS because of atlus crap)

Let's not jump the gun into FeMC territory yet.
we need a ps4 announcement
Rule of Rose meets Persona would be my dream game.
Ok, I must have misread that guys post then. Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm going to do something I wouldn't normally do, and I'm going to buy P3FES on PSN and give it another chance. I hate the artstyle, but if there's something about the series that I might find appealing that I missed before, it's worth going back to take another look.
For that to happen Kaneko needs to return... Kaneko art>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.Soejima art
Red = Roses = Flowers = Lily

This guy knows what's up!Rule of Rose meets Persona would be my dream game.
Y2Kev guessed correctly again, by the way:
{Y2Kev postt}
Posted that even before the teaser website had gone up. Not bad.
Unless you're dead set against P4, I'd say give that a shot instead.

Its really hard to relate to japnese school children. I hope the series moves away from that.
I'm open to the idea, but I really doubt it's prison. It's anyone's guess at this point, but if I had to bet, I would put my money on a high-school/college crowd, with a wider age-range comprising the main group (high school kids up through college grads). The trailer also got me thinking there may be a theme of being a "slave" to corporate company culture, since work culture is so dominant in Japan.
With Atlus striking gold with the high school setting, though, I don't think they will abandon school-age characters unless they're really trying to shake things up

I'd rather a Persona 4 PS3 annoucement!!! I have no way to play Persona 4 before P5 comes out!
Well, the best Megaten game has a teenager protagonist.

I thought the main character of Eternal Punishment was an adult?
There is a lovely vita version of the game.You won't be getting a PS3 announcement
Play Shin Megami Tensei then? Play SMT 3, SMT IV, Strange Journey, the Devil Summoner games, and Soul Hackers??? there's a lot of stuffIts really hard to relate to japnese school children. I hope the series moves away from that.
Still unmatched.
in what, please dont say good character design.
Seems like a real missed opportunity. I'm sure if they had put Persona 4 on PSN at the same time as the P5 announcement a ton of people would likely have bought it.
I'm going to assume Golden isn't optimized for the big screen and it would be stupid too put vanilla P4 onto the PS3 PSN at this point in the game.
This decision is just asking for port begging. They probably dont want to release on a system with a small install base, yet aren't releasing on 360 too which would effectively double the amount of people who might buy this game. Yet they are releasing on a system that is notoriously hard to program for making it harder on themselves and might result in a worse game. They probably could have gotten a game up and running much faster on XB1/PS4, polished the fuck out of it and sold it xmas 2014 on a pretty healthy install base by then.
"I hope this persona series stops doing what the persona series does"
There's no JRPG audience for the PS4.This decision is just asking for port begging. Well yeah, its why I never got into the series that much. As an adult playing a high school dating sim/RPG is not appealing at all aestheticly to me and to many people. If persona didnt limit itself to such a niche demographic it could be so much bigger.
