We would've actually seen the game if it was coming out within the next 3 months.
No, but it's best to be cautious and assume December-ish 2014. Less disappointing that way.

Why would Teddie be a playable character in P5? We're almost certainly getting a new cast.
The ball and chain and the phrase "You are slave" makes me think more that this will be about people that are "slaves to society" or jailed by their own problems and surroundings then an actual literally juvie or jail setting. The color red works for that as well. That is also in the same vein as how shadows work.

It's a prison game set in syberia during the cold war. The MC is a 56 year old ex-cop with a storied past. He summons his persona by breaking his hand cuffs. The party is filled with other inmates, a prison guard, and a local sheriff. The s-links will consist of the warden, other inmates, party members, and conjugal visitors.

I can't wait for the game's school trip to be to Inaba, along with seeing an older Nanako.
If that happened I'm willing to bet western Persona fans would be asking why Japan didn't like it.

As much as I like the idea of a middle aged ojisan MC in a SMT/Persona Atlus game, it's not gonna happen. Not in this day and age.

How so? I can't see them pulling another Teddie when he's literally really the only "animal" mascot in the series.

I can't think of any big new news it could mean.
Not trying to derail, but I think when S-E announced FFXIII-2 for the US they announced for winter 2012 and it came out that January.
Anyway I was assuming it was end of next year but wanted to know if there was clarification. Its all good.

Eh, might be differing definitions of mascot going on here. Teddie's practically P4's Jack Frost in terms of representation while I wouldn't really say the same for Fox or Koromaru.
If we're talking about animal "colleague", then I guess I'd think that's probable.

The PS3 will obviously still have a far larger userbase than One and 4 combined..but imho by then the console will be dead and forgotten, unlike the PS2 at that time, when a lot of people still bought games for it.
I sure hope for both their and our sake that they're already working on P5:FES/Golden/Whatever for the PS4.
