PS4 official European waiting thread - come here and wait with us!

Any GAFers in Germany that know of a place that is going to have stock for those that did not pre-ordrer? I have a friend that lives near Dusseldorf that is looking for a PS4, but despite the urging of us 'Mericans for him to go out and do so, he neglected to place an order anywhere months ago, not expecting the demand to be as high as it is.

He's considering going to Paris to camp at the Sony store, but any more inexpensive options would be welcome.

How about Berlin then? Sony is having a launch event at the Sony Center on Thursday. It starts at 5pm iirc.
 
I preorded instore at GAME but I have no time to pre-pay for my stuff for the fast-lane midnight launch. I finish 7pm work on weekdays and my branch closes at 6pm. I'm wondering maybe they will just continue to be open until midnight on the 28th or do you think they will close at 6 and re-open later.

Anyone know how the XBO launch did it?

Paris is actually closer to Dusseldorf than Berlin, but if rail transport to Berlin is easier it's a viable option - has the store in Berlin mentioned anything about stock?
 
Still waiting for Curry's to dispatch Killzone with the £20 off, but the money has been taken which is a good sign. I fully expected a cancellation email anytime this week, if I get a dispatch email I will be most happy.

They'll close and re-open. The one where I live opened at 11PM though and let people in to play on the consoles at the X1 launch.
 
One thing I'm worried about Shopto despatching the console, is the condition the packaging will arrive in. I don't know if it's the case with anyone else, but prior consoles and limited edition sets I've ordered from them have always arrived with either dents, creases, or slight hole punctures. I just hope it's not the case with the PS4.

Rail transport seems to be on the expensive side (110 euro one-way with Deutsche Bahn from Dusseldorf main railway station to Berlin). You can tell him to check out the long distance bus connections, though. There are several providers for this route, like MeinFernbus for example.

A one-way ticket to Dusseldorf-Berlin is 54 euro. They also seem to be a bit expensive, so maybe something like this: https://www.berlinlinienbus.de

Two tickets cost like 44 euro.

About stock: They said there would be enough for all customers but I highly doubt that. I think I remember reading something about 700 units or so.

Try amazon.es. they have the pre-order up and they're not writing anything about that you've had to pre-ordered it before a certain date or anything so could be worth a try.

I would give it a try if I didn't have two orders already for some bundles. Haven't got a date yet which sucks though...
 
Whats wrong with Sony, 3 days before launch and they still haven't given a release date for the Killzone bundle in Sweden. I've come to terms that I wont be getting it this friday but I have no date to look forward to.

Ah cool to hear someone is in the same situation as me.
Just checked my bank now and £26.99 was taken out from currys, so they cant cancel now right?
The order status says they are awaiting stock, but I found on the product page it says its in stock again... dispatch e-mail due soon?!
Will be very happy if I get this! Would have got BF4 too, but didn't have it for PS4 for some reason. Have some games to trade in towards that anyhow, so that should help.

The one near me is opening at 8pm Thursday night for an hour for last chance to pre pay then re-opening at midnight.

What I've heard is that we won't be getting the Killzone bundle at all but probably some other bundles later (some mail from webhallen that someone posted so not anything official but is looking more and more likely). So that's why I've ordered from both amazon.uk and amazon.fr... :D no shipping date yet though.... oh, and I ordered rather late, in October so...

I just got my dispatch email a few minutes ago for my PS4 copy of AC IV.
 
Gutted to miss out on the currys thing - was having trouble signing in due to iPad rubbishness of web browsing and then for some reason I had to reset my password and before I could resolve it went :(

In other news I'm tempted not to pay in advance at Game - having thought about it, most folk going at midnight will probably pay in advance so (in theory) whilst it might save you time during normal shop hours during the launch it might be a pain...

I noticed AC is listed as in stock, hopefully they are just waiting on stock for KZ. I'm patient for a bargain, doesn't even need to get here for release to make me happy.
 
Got FIFA 14 on PS4 for £10 today by trading in my PS3 version to Amazon. £15 credit + £22 towards either FIFA, Battlefield or NFS.

I don't like trading games in, but this is a bit different!

Asda has more stock of PS4 that it will sell to customers on launch day this Friday.

155 Asda stores will be selling the machines from midnight on Thursday. The stock includes the normal £349 machine, plus the Knack bundle (£379) and the Call of Duty Ghosts pack (£385).

The list of stores can be found below, and unless otherwise stated, will have stock available from midnight.

I had a slightly different experience - I was emailed that offer as I had bought FIFA14 from them on PS3, but today it was rejected because it was the 'wrong edition' - apparently the Ultimate Edition doesn't count - but surely they knew that before emailing me the offer....
