I hope not, but I know some publishers have pushed their BF sales earlier. Atlus for example, they sent the usual mail saying that was it.
 
Shame they only dropped the price of Dragon's Crown by $10, it would be an instabuy at $19.99.

Definitely gonna pick up Persona 4 Golden this week, it's been long enough since I finished P4 that I'm ready to play this one.
 
Got Hardcore Risette Fan, now I almost feel like I have to go for a second play-through and the Plat when I'm done with the first one.

How difficult is it to max all SL in new games plus if you don't use a guide?

I don't know about the UK but Invizimals is pretty big in Spain and Portugal. The series was a system seller for the PSP there.
Also those three games are new, that's why they get advertised. What other system has a much better lineup of new and good games for kids this holiday? Nintendo has traditionally a good lineup for kids but it's not like they can advertise that many more new and good games. There are also several other older kids games on the Vita.
 
What's the general consensus on Valhalla Knights 3? The stupid sexytime games got a laugh out of me and the allure of adult content has me pretty curious. Worth picking up?

Also, how does it stack up to the new Ys? I've never played a Ys game before, but I know this is different in that its 3D now. I've watched gameplay trailers for both and they both kinda look like PS2 era JRPGs, but I'm kind of in the mood for that anyway, so I'm comparing them. Thoughts?
 
I'm so happy that Killzone Mercenary is getting a bunch of support from Sony and Guerilla. I haven't played a good bot multiplayer game since... Perfect Dark.

Now you've confused me. I have MGS1 on my vita, but I can't download MGS VR missions. UK PSN here, why would it be the opposite way round?

I dunno, but it can't be that difficult if you have the Courage and the other stuff maxed, right? BTW, did you maxed Margaret Social Link? I think I've read somewhere you have
to fight her or something like that.

That's what I'm thinking, I would really rather not constantly have to look up what to do.

As for Margaret, she was the first link I maxed and I haven't had to do that so far and I'm in mid-December

I like to imagine a room full of Sony execs that are completely baffled by twenty-something gamers buying both Tearaway and Killzone.

(In reality Sony always seem to ensure that there are as wide variety of games on each of their consoles)
 
Ok, I need JRPG-GAF's help really quickly. I have a 6 hour bus ride home from university tomorrow, and I'm considering grabbing a game for the ride. I'd like to go cheaper if possible, but I'm eying both P4G and the PSP Ys games. I haven't really played a bona fide RPG in a long time, so any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

Depends on what you want. Story driven turn based jrpg (Persona). Fast paced action-rpg (Ys). The Ys games are tons of fun and you cannot go wrong with either Oath or Seven. I personally enjoy Oath.

There's one hell of a lot of reading in the first couple of hours of Persona 4 which I assume has remained the same on P4G, I'm sure some wouldn't want to play that part of a game on a bus but I have no idea if that would bother you or not.

Hm, that's a good point. It might be something I start a little later, then. I think I'll grab something from the Ys sale, then. Any recommendations for someone completely new to the series?

Not sure where to ask this but will kingdom hearts birth by sleep and god of war 2 ever be playable on the ps vita? new ps vita owner here.

Iirc, there are some licensing issues with Disney that prevent BBS (and all KH games) to be available digitally in the U.S.

That's all I know. If someone else knows the whole story, I love to learn about it.
 
3 more Sound Shapes "Death Levels" and I'll have Platinum. Fuck me these are mean! Will probably get the DLC too, it's cheap and I enjoy the Beat School stuff.

Story sucks though so it puts the awesomeness a peg down. Not really bad per se but it was a step down from X.

Off topic, but gameplay is the most important thing about a game. It's the reason that Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus can be looked at as a "what not to do". Let's sacrifice framerate and fluidity in an action game to make it native res. Meanwhile, DoA team manages to port DoA5 Plus at 60fps and keep it looking pretty impressive all the while.

Graphics are nice, but gameplay is definitely most important.

I'd say this gets less important if the game is story driven like VLR.
 
yeah, adventure games show that gameplay isn't everything.

look at everyone's favorite vita title p4g... terrible gameplay but an insanely well received jrpg

Obviously. :)

But the core gameplay is what matters. It's why MK9 (and Injustice?) are good ports on Vita. They maintain the exact gameplay experience that's promised -- 60fps, all the timings and combos, and such work. And in motion, it looks fine. :D
 
The Tearaway demo is so freaking charming! I turned it off after about 5 minutes as I'm asking my wife to get it for me for Christmas and I didn't want to spoil my playthrough of the full game. Can't wait!
