Games you remember, names you don't

Oh man I'm glad I found this thread. There's a game that I absolutely cannot remember the name of that I used to play with my uncle when I was a kid, so this was maybe 10-15 years ago. It was on the PC, and basically you controlled I think 3 characters, and they would wait in a line standing outside this house. They would go in one at a time and I think the house had like aliens or something living in it. Whenever you died or got captured or whatever, the next person would go into the house. I don't even remember what the point of the game was, but the house had different floors and you had to basically not get caught by the aliens or enemies.

Is there a SNES game that has a "results" at the end? Specifically I'm just wondering if there is a game that told you stuff like score, kills, deaths, etc. I'm trying to think of some but for whatever reason I can't think of anything during that era.

Well, Super Metroid has a time and a completion percentage. I never played the SNES port of DOOM, but every other one I played had an end screen for each level that showed stats like that. Surely there were others.

Dream Zone?
(Fun fact: This is one of the first games released by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin, the founders of Naughty Dog)

Fur Fighters?

The fur fighters one is correct, but the dream one isn't. The name of that dream game has been racking my brain for years. The cover has this guy who kind of reminds me of alvin and the chipmunks, and he has a genie tail like he's flying fast or something. All of the characters that you can pick are kids, and one in particular is dressed as a football player. You start off the game going to sleep and you end up in some weird dream hub.

Sort of off topic, does anyone know where I can find a working version of the original chip's challenge?

Sounds like Maniac Mansion.

Used to play this platformer on the Amiga 500. Was maybe a viking/medieval type thing?

The one thing I remember for sure is that you had this special attack that made circular golden Inca type faces fly across the screen and kill (?) everything.

Been looking for over 10 years, I try google once a year or so but never come up with anything.

Any clues?

An isometric twin-stick shooter for the PS1. One of the characters was a clown or something, maybe a mutant. You went to mars at some point.

Loaded or Reloaded ?

Mine : An arcade soccer game (2D, sidescrolling style) i've played when i was young and i dont know if it was released on console. In this game sometimes you can do move like in captain tsubasa, and when it happens you have a litte cinematic to let you know that you will unleash a mega strike etc...

I hope this was not a game played in my young dreams.

Was it Myth by any chance? That had a level that took place on a Norse boat, however each level was themed by a different mythology.

If not, any other clues? Were there puzzles involved? Cartoony graphics?

Not it, but thank you very much for the suggestion.

Wow, as soon as I heard the sound effects I knew this was it!

You're amazing, thank you. Not exaggerating how long I have been re-looking for this!

Going to watch this whole playthrough now :)

No probs, can't say I played Beyond the Ice Palace even though I must have played most Amiga games back in the day! Might have to correct that.

3rd person shooter/platformer on og xbox, set in space/the future. Ending strongly hinted at sequel, sequel never came because the game sold like shit. I think you had some psychic powers or something.

i was just talking about this game the other day...

I had to do a google search on it "psx game guy with diaper"

awesome game wish they would remake it for the PS4

Eeeww.
Cross platform titles were already a plague back in those days.

Beyond the Ice Palace was a great game on C64, but A500 version menaged to look and play worse.

Curiously, the exact same thing happened with Myth, mentioned above.

Hopefully someone will be able to remember this game, I can't find it anywhere at all.

It's a PC-game I remember playing in the 90s, maybe early 2000s. It was either browser-based or a game service client download and it was free.

Shooter
Isometric view
Multiplayer based
Multiple classes or Customizable?
Vividly remember Jetpacks
Rifles, grenades, etc
Maps were pretty basic.
Multiplayer was 3v3 or 5v5, small teams.

That's really the best I can remember about it. I guess it's possible the game doesn't even exist anymore but would be great to know what it is. The only other thing that I might help is that I can remember either within the game service client or browser service there was a 2D, top down spaceship game which looked very similar to a game called Continuum.

I used to play this PC game about 15 years ago. I'm pretty sure it was an educational game. You were on an island and needed to collect letters in order to form a word. It had an Adventure Island sort of vibe... you were a tribal looking dude on a tropical island.

You had to play puzzles inbetween spelling, right? Top down view, pushing stuff around (sort of like the lolo games)

Edit2: Yobis basic spelling tricks! Is that it?

I am looking for the title of a game I bought recently, but which I cant find in my mail inbox. Its an indie plartform puzzle game, with a warthog as the avatar - rings a bell anyone?

Edit: Woooo, post number 300! only took 5 years... :)

I'd say there's a great chance you're thinking of Full Bore: http://www.wholehog-games.com/fullbore/

Infantry?

Especially since it had the offshot with space battles called Cosmic Rift.

im looking for a playstation game about combat car theme*, much like Twisted metal but on a solo campaing fashion, with misions and stuff.
i kinda believe the loading screen resembled like a bomb timer.

sorry for the scarce details...i cant remember more things about it.

*cars with guns. but not arena battle style. sorry for the ambiguety of that keyword

I dont remember the name of a game for the first Gameboy. I remember the visual was up and the main protagonist was knight. The first job to do was find a sword and then for level up your attack you need to find some crystal and return it to your house.

It was some kind of Dungeon Crawler, you move 1 zone and the enemy do the same.

Rogue trip or Vigilante 8?

I'm trying to remember the name of a certain PS1 game whose demo I played. There were lots of burning people in a mall. There was a timer and if you took to long to do the objective the whole level blew up. It's possible that you have to deactivate bombs in this game.
I can't say if it was first person or third person.
That's all I can remember.

Rogue trip or Vigilante 8?
niether, i mentioned twisted metal in the fashion of a car with guns, not in the fashion of a arena car fighting. mine was more like a mission oriented, go there, kill that...in that sense, and in a city.

the bomb timer style was on the loading screen and i think on the title screen too...

PS: vigilante 8 and its sequel, were awesome.

Quarantine aka Hard Rock Cab?

Quarantine aka Hard Rock Cab?

not a cab, and definitely not that gruesome. but holy mother that game looks awesome.

I think it was more like an agent on missions..but always on the car, and the car can shoot, twin machine guns and i believe missiles too

not sure if 1st or third person but i believe was 1st

I suddenly thought of a racing game that I used to play quite a bit, but I really can't remember the name.

In this game you had cars (who would've guessed) for which you could buy guns, which you could also upgrade. The tracks on which you drove had loopings and after races you were in some kind of bar/tavern where you could buy the upgrades etc. I think there was also some 'sexy chick' there, but maybe that depended on the character you chose (and myself, as young and innocent as i was, mostly chose her).

I'm quite certain the game was 2D, but I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: I think you could also buy oil to hinder your opponents.

Quoting myself:
As a young child, I remember playing a (presumably) mid-90s Windows point and cluck adventure game where for whatever reason, you had to climb a cliff face/mountain and avoid translucent earthworms, and reach a mine shaft* and of course there was a variety of collectibles and items to use depending on what route you took. From then on, I can't remember what happens. Does anyone know what game it was? I highly doubt anyone knows much of mid 90s windows games.

*presumably this was not the main game
I believe it was 3D and not 2D

Sounds a lot like Super Cars or it's sequel.

I played this RPG on the Sega Genesis back in the day and I have wanted to find out what it is for the longest time, but I can't ever find it. ):

The most I remember about it is that your party followed you while you moved around. It wasn't Phantasy Star (often a suggestion when I've tried to ask people in the past), because the sprite work wasn't as good.

It had an art design where the wizards had pointy hats and all that classic fare. I can't remember anything else really. ):

It wasn't Sword of Vermillion was it? The combat in that game was a side scroller.

Alternatively possibly Ys?

Edit: Hmm....could be Super Hydlide.

A bit vague on details, but I remember an Amiga game which partly involved swatting flies in first person? Anyone have a clue?

It was an arcade game, but Exterminator had Amiga, ST, C64 and Speccy versions.

It was ALL about swatting flies in first person though.

Alright, so I'm not sure I can be clear or specific at all when trying to describe this game, but here goes.

I'm pretty sure it was for the Super Nintendo. I don't know if you played as some kind of paladin or wanderer/peasant-type dude, but it was mostly a top down perspective. I never got very far, as I just rented it once or twice, and got stuck.

The main area was typically field-like; trees and such, green grass, etc. I remember there being some mine-cart thing early on, and I think there was some sort of waterfall or river (hard to remember because of the perspective of the game). There may have also been some deal where there were, like, bees in a tree, and they'd go after you? I don't know.

Goddamn I wish I could remember this game. Something about it was peculiarly appealing to me, but I played it when I was like 7, and I can't remember it for shit.

EDIT: I think I figured it out. It's probably Young Merlin.

looking for a "hot dog stand" simulator game. it's very old and on the PC i guess Win 3.1 or DOS. You had to order or set the price of the hot dogs in advance and then the game would tell you if you how many you sold. Sometimes you got lucky and a football game happened and you sold lots of them. Not sure if was a german only game and maybe had "Kiosk" in the title.

found this:
I remember playing this game in school when I was young in "computer class." It was probably around 1988, but I'm not sure if they were Apple (2e, maybe?) or IBM computers.

Some specifics I vaguely recall about the game: You could set the price of the hot dogs; buy mustard, napkins and cups; you had to sell and make a profit at baseball parks.

Does anyone remember this game and/or know where I can find it? There is a wikipedia entry for hot dog stands that references the game and says that it was made by a company called Sunburst Communications. I found a similar game called "Lemonade Stand" but I would like to find the one I played in school.

this is the one. now i need to find a way to get and play it.
