Fassbender is so much fun to watch it doesn't even matter. That scene with the germans in that south american bar? Amazing.

Fassbender's only good scene in the film. It takes a special kind of film to make Fassbender turn in a bad performance. That he's still one of two (McAvoy) shining beacons in a film filled with shitty extraneous characters nobody cares about is certainly telling.

And yeah, Singer's X-films are better than any movie Marvel has put out.

So long as we get more Magneto jazz-hands I'm all for it.

If they don't have the voice actor from the X-Men cartoon, I'm not buying a ticket

FOOOOOLISH INSECTS!

Oh come on- it's not like they would've only fought Trask/Sentinels in the new one. There had to be a bigger baddie.

Also, how about hooking up some Cable, Bryan?

ANYTHING but this. Cable was always a mistake, and explaining his origins gives me headaches.

Rachel grey/Rachel Summers however, I can live with.

Looks like Singer finally had a sit down with Mark Millar to get their shit straight with Fox's handling of the X-Men franchise. I remember a few months back Singer said he still hadn't even spoken to Millar yet.

This is an intensely annoying attitude. First, because Marvel Studios is by no means a paragon of quality. Second, because X2 and First Class are both much better than X1, and better than anything MAHVEL BAYBEE has shat out.*

*Sole exception remains The Avengers.

I strongly disagree though, I think there's more quality control and less executive meddling at Marvel Studios rather than Fox (and if there is meddling, it's from people like Based Feige who actually know and love the material.

I'm interested to see DofP though since this will be the proper first movie in Fox's own attempt to mimic the MCU (Millar was brought in when The Wolverine was already in production IIRC)

And honestly, I'm in the "Let X-Men stand by themselves" crowd. I'd prefer the Fantastic Four rights to go back to Marvel ASAP.

I'm not sure about that one.

But that particular issue aside, another poster was on the right track. Marvel theoretically taking back the Xmen and Spider man franchises means less movies overall, since they will be competing with themselves for screen time and budget dollars.

As long as marvel studios is putting their best effort in, Fox and Sony have incentive to not only keep making these films, but also keep them reasonably high quality. No one is going to see X4 or X5 if it looks like trash next to Avengers and Cap.

If these movies were CLEARLY being mishandled (as Daredevil, Ghost Rider, and possibly FF are) then sure, back to marvel. But there's not really a significant gap in quality between "the wolverine" and "Thor 2".

Plus X-men as a property is out of season.

Wow!

This is canon?

Explaining why and what apocalypse is right now and what is and is not canon with alternate timelines takes more energy than I have right now.

But the short story is that's apocalypse in the year 3000 something, after he started using host bodies when his original bit the dust.

Ah. I see.

What's the story behind his armor?

So the X-Men films are following the Wolverine and the X-Men plot to a tee.
