Okay, let's not be crazy here. As someone who read X-Men comics for 25 years (before Scott Lobdell and Bob Harras ruined them in the late '90s), Iron Man 1 and Avengers demolish all the X-films. X2 is by far the best, but it has not aged well, and the first X-Men film is borderline MST3K material at this point. Halle Berry and the Senator who melts into a puddle? C'mon.
On the subject of announcing Apocalypse this soon, I have zero problem with it. The more studios want to plan out a continuity-heavy film series, the better, I say. If Fox thinks they're up to the challenge of adopting the MCU model, more power to them.

they were D-list villains for a D-list book. Turning sinister into Havok's nemesis for Xfactor was the worst editorial move ever. No one cared, and no one remembers that crew.
The Marauders though? that mutant massacre? Tell me you wouldn't pay money to see that on the big screen.

Nope. Just a recent example, Sony already announced Amazing Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 4 and the year they're releasing in. Also The Avengers if that counts.
It's weird to think that before it became an adaptation of Days Of Future Past and Singer came aboard to direct the only thing compelling Fox to make a sequel to First Class was the fact the studio has Jennifer Lawrence and Fassbender on relatively inexpensive multi picture deals for these rebooted X-Men films.

Plus one could argue that LOTR: TTT and ROTK were announced with planned release dates before FOTR even came out.
Pretty sweet where they're going with the franchise now that Singer has the chance to un-fuck what Fox did to it, but this should never have been announced so soon. Announcing "X-Men 2016" this early is fine, but don't give any details about the damn thing before the current movie is even out. It would have made an awesome surprise teaser reveal at the end of DOFP.

Marvel Studios has release dates announced for two 2016 releases and one 2017 release, though only the dates.
Eh, I'm fine with the X-Men being separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides, Marvel is going to use the Inhumans to replace mutants in the MCU.
I bet that Fox is going to add the Scarlet Witch to the film as a fuck you to Marvel/Disney tho.

I'm worried. I have zero faith in Bryan Singer. Not since the first X-men movie and like 3 minutes into X2.
So this pretty much spoils that the location they are at when they send wolverine back in dofp is Apocalypse's time chamber(?).
