Already I like the female protagonist way better than previous ones. I'm interested, especially if this is more open world.

She's armoured which is great, but yeah her design is way better than the male lead IMO.

Drill hair is a bit much though...

I really hope this game isn't rushed to hell to make deadlines.

Also, please do not announce Tales of Zestiria 2 a year later. Boy, that'd grind my gears.

And I'd still buy it. God damn me.

If she plays off the male lead well, then they'll both work out great.

I don't mind the curls. It gives her personality.

The game looks promising so far. A friend of mine was saying that the field portion reminds him of Xenoblade. If they could capture even a fraction of the exploration in Xenoblade, that'd be pretty amazing.

An English release is probably pretty far off, though, so I'm going to file this away with Final Fantasy 15 for things to get excited about later.

Also, I hope the battles aren't seamless. Spell effects tend to suffer when that happens. The way spells looked in FFXII and even Xenoblade was pretty underwhelming. I think the whole seamless vs. nonseamless debate is moot if they can get battle transitions to be as quick as in Graces. It was amazing how instantaneous battle transitions were in that game. One of my favorite things about Tales games is the flashy battles, and I'd hate to see that toned down.

Just woke up ( or am i still dreaming ? )

This news and trailer is "Just as planned"

Music does remind me of xillia but it's not such a bad feelign , i don't mind this battle system and fighting dragon seems very enjoyable. ( as always ).

i ony need a release date and i'm set for importing .

Wait, only noticed the katakana just now. It's spelled アリーシャ (Ariisha) and not アリシア (Arishia), and the latter is used for my name (Alicia).

So my theory is that she's called Aleesha or Alisha or Arisha or something like that, without the extra "i" in it.

My Japanese teachers all write my name アリシア and that's also how, for example, Alicia Keys' name is officially spelled in Japanese.

tldr the female main character is probably not Alicia but Alisha or something like that.

So uh, whats the weapon of the main character? Can't quite figure it out with the gif. Unarmed brawler or another sword user?

I just hope she isn't put in a damsel role. That would be disappointing. We'll see a year from now though.

I was gonna say drill hair was too anime, but then I realized how stupid of a comment that is lol

He has a sword but mixes brawling with swordplay like Asbel. Wonder if they'll bring the style shift or something similar back?

I can imagine something like having seamless battles (without transition screens and such), but whenever the battle starts a circular "area of battle" is created, limiting the player to certain area akin to the past games. Don't know if its technically possible, but that would stay true to the traditions and make it even faster. Just speculating though.

I am having the same problem. I don't see a sword at all there. Am I blind?

It's not as if they have a magical solution to make the PS4 BC, the only solutions are if they got the GPU/CPU cheap enough to throw on a chip then throw in there (which happened with the PS2... and STILL it didn't last) or if they had made the PS3 x86 based in the first place (more about increasing the odds then though) though you can definitely argue the Cell was a stupid move to begin with anyway.

Another solution would be to make it cross-gen... like a lot of publishers are doing these days you know... Just sayin'.

Well, there is this...

I don't know exactly what I expected, but I'm glad it wasn't that.

I like his voice though.

God's in his heaven

Is Sakuraba the composer again?

The trailer music does sound like something he usually does, which is a tad disappointing. I generally like his work, but somebody new could spice things too.

Disappointed it's on PS3 but I'll make due. Hopefully the game after this is PS4. Gotta keep the thing around for FFX HD anyway.

Is Slay using feather earrings?

And I just noticed we can have Lightning Returns, Final Fantasy X HD, KH2 2.5: Remix, Atelier Escha & Logy, Symphonia Chronicles, Tales of Zestiria and Persona 5 in the same year. How good would that be? Year of JRPGs confirmed!

Sounds like it. Maybe he'll change things up for this game like he did for Xillia. Would still like it if they got a new composer though.

Where have I seen this guy's clothes before...

Wow I would like that. In fact I enjoyed Graces battle system a lot and would be very happy if this one was somewhat close to it.

LOVE Alisha's design, the other guy not so much.

That would be an interesting way of doing things, and a nice compromise between the two. Hopefully they show more regarding the battle system soon.

Ugh I really don't like the character designs. Can't we get something simple and maybe even badass like Yuri again.

Edit: But I do like the cloth flapping around in battle.

Another major JP developed game for the PS3.

Might as well delay the ps4 there, besides deep down there is nothing coming out for that market there.

I told you it could be Alisha!

Also, does the site say that the PV1 will be available 12/21?

Yeah seems like it. At Jump Festa.

Also will we know who's working on the scenario before or after the game releases? If the guy who worked on Xillia 2 (Naoki Yamamoto) is as good as people say he is, would definitely like to see this game penned by him as well.
